The game feels really polished, even if incomplete. Bugs are rare.
I was afraid after I tapered off in playing Hades 2 after EA releasethat I'd spoiled it for myself. But then the recent Olympic update came in, and I had a lot of fun playing the new stuff (and also feeling the balance changes, etc.) so I'm not regretting my choice not to wait.
Well, the game is due to release, most likely, by the end of next year.
Right now there's quite a lot of content already but no end content, so a lot of loose ends regarding the story, lots of back and forth regarding the gameplay, weapon balance and so on.
Buying the game now gives you the opportunity to help the game develop, see how it evolves. If this is an important part of the overall experience for you (or you just suffer from FOMO), then you can buy it now. Otherwise I see no reason for you to simply wait.
Or, if you want a happy middle ground, there's another BIG update coming by the start of next year, which will give some more content to play.
Then the game will be around 3/5 complete I guess and you could start from there.
Then grab Hades 2 afterwards, the plot will feel more cohesive and it'll make sense.
It's in the title that he has just 100%'d the first game 😅
If you even have to ask this question, it doesn't really matter how good and playable Hades 2 is.
You can play it when it's finalized.
Sorry, misread that.
No specific date yet, but most likely up to the end of next year.
(that's the goal, at least)
