Friendly notice: don't fight Zeus
When you encounter two boons of the gods, one of which is Lord uncle Zeus - pick Zeus. Otherwise he'll beat all the crap out of you - with endless spam of attacks with huge AOE, such you haven't time nor space to hide from. Minus 1 or 2 death defiances. Just ridiculous. Pls nerf or something.

Let's just wait for that one guy who will write a poem about how this isn't "pOsItIvE fEeDbAcK" so everyone should just post "SkIlL IsSuE" and give us all a lecture :lunar2019laughingpig:

To be fair, he IS the "king" of the gods, he's supposed to be tough.

I remember in the first Hades I've instinctively avoided making Zeus angry hahaha
Until one day I've took my chances and regreted it 🤣

I'm Hades 2 I've made him mad once wondering "is he still as difficult as in Hades 1?".
The answer is "yep, every bit of it". So I keep always choosing him first.

Why so defensive. Let it go 😋

Zeus is definitely one of the tougher angry god patterns, but he DOES have a pattern.

Now if you anger Zeus on a small playfield, yeah your are pretty much SoL, so definitely avoid that.

But if you anger him on a mid-big field then he isn't THAT bad...

The key with him is that he has a bit of a delay after each onslaught of AOEs.

So the best way to deal with him is to attack very carefully during his AOE onslaught (or go on the defensive).
Then he will have a small delay before his next batch of attacks, during that delay is when you go fully offensive and don't worry about him.

He isn't THAT terrible if you think about his attack patterns a bit, but he does require a bit of patience if you want to deal with him safely.

I find Aphrodite and Demeter harder to fight.
But generally I more often pick options based on what Boons they might contain than on who I want to fight. I know I'll get both, but most of the time I need just that one Boon...

Demeter and Hera are the second worst, IMHO.
Which is understandable since they are the wives.

Aphrodite is annoying, but at least you can clearly see the heart following you. Same with Poseidon, although I have the impression that Aphrodite shoots more often.

Then why his boons suck?

Because you're using them wrong.

This has been known since Hades 1, never bet against Zeus in the battle of the gods.

yeah i really dislike choosing against zeus in any scenario. cuz that lightning while not hard to avoid is everywhere and just.. "zap". him and hestia and then demeter are the ones i really hate choosing against.. in that order. hera is easy, poseidon and aphro both are meh, apollo and heph are mean but easy to avoid, demeter gets mean, hestia sucks in small places, and zeus.. i've lost so much health to him just being everywhere i wanted to be.. and then everywhere i was already.

hold on, im lost. i've played hades 2 for over 20 hours and not once have i seen one of those "choose one god and fight the other" rooms like the ones in hades 1. was this a recent addition or have i somehow completely missed this part of the game?

I don't know when they start to appear. It's not right away, that's for sure.

When they do appear it's exactly like in the first Hades so you can't really miss it.

Demeter's definitely the worst for me. Her penalty can hit you instantly, unavoidably, if it happens to spawn right where you're standing. Everyone else I've tried has SOME warning time where you can see it coming to avoid it, but Demeter's warning is "I'm already taking damage, I guess I'm standing in it." It's honestly kinda terrible. Sure it's not going to spawn on you every time, but when it does, it sucks, especially if you're already at low health. There's literally nothing you can do about it as far as I can tell; unless you have a way to make yourself permanently invulnerable you just always run the risk of the next frost zone starting exactly under your feet.

Same; Zeus is the one that I absolutely don’t want to piss off in both games, followed by Aphrodite and Demeter.

And I swear I wasn’t this bad at dodging Aphrodite’s heart in Hades I, but I can’t believe how much trouble I’m often in wherever I choose to piss her off in Hades II. Her heart now feels a lot faster and way better at tracking, and it doesn’t help that Mel can’t spam dash.
