Did you reach the point where you hand out invitations to a gathering? That was supposed to be the epic emotional ending that tells you you're done.
You are failing to realize what kind of game this is.
Yes, I beat both acts. The first act is amazing. But the second one spoils the whole impression of the game.
There's a ton of content hidden in the second act that will make you want to keep playing.
And that feeling of catharsis from the first act is dissolved by the endless attempts to unlock the final epilogue. You just experience burnout, not elation.
It would be much better if they finished the story and didn't hide the plot in endless retry mode. They would make it a separate regime.
Games must be fun.
No.
Yeah, that's fair. I liked the ending but it was more of a pleasant coda than the exhilarating crescendo that it could have been. I came to like the ending more on subsequent plays than I did the first time, once I knew how it was going to go.
It would be nice to face something in the gameplay that we've never seen until the finale, and as you say it could go back to the normal loop afterwards if people want to play on.
But the story is neat in how it works with a "roguelike" in that there is never any final end. They're all going to keep doing what they're doing, such is hell.
Ignore them.
That said, it is rogue-lite and those are meant to be replayed. Because of what the game is, the campaign will outlive narrative content. It is definitely my less preferred way of ending games, but it is what it is.
im not sure what else you wanted. supergiant mails you a trophy?
