Yeah, can't think for themselves. They have to get a nod of approval from the authority figures they like and something gets praise from someone they don't like: "it's the W0rsT ThInG oN EaRtH!1!1!!!1"
But in this case it probably is at least partially motivated out of spite, since the specific author has recently been rather malicious in regard to the positive reception of Stellar Blade.
Although I'd never heard of her before this week; maybe she has had some time to build up a reputation previous to this and I'm just unaware. (Kotaku's been a laughing stock for as long as I remember though) But in my uninformed opinion she's just living up to a meme so people see her as one.
"kotaku praised this game so it must be bad" and im sure they've praised games like bg3 and rdr2 as well, so therefore those games must be bad too? i haven't seen a legitimate reason for the reactions this game has been getting besides "woke" or "kotaku" or "sbi". you guys just repeat the same buzzwords over and over like drones and then convince yourselves you're the epitome of free thinking
True, but a good reviewer will usually argue the reasons why they don't like a game. And a cognitive capable person will judge if those arguments resonate with them.
This petulant mewling is all because someone they don't like, likes the game. It's mind bogglingly stupid. And if it really is just because that Kotaku Reviewer doesn't like Stellar Blade they want to have some kind of childish moral victory it is beyond stupid.
Personally, I won't be playing Stellar Blade... Until they bring it out on PC and it has more to it than, albeit, stunning visuals.
Explanations of why the reviewer doesn't like the game can suggest it will be something that you will view positively.
Conversely, explanations of why a reviewer likes a game can highlight things that you will view negatively.
And there's also things that just give you information about the game that can influence your opinion but is unrelated to whether the viewer liked or disliked it.
Get a better bait, mate.
