Anyone else feel like the characters are kinda boring?

Playing this right after finishing hades 1 for the first time and i feel almost disappointed i guess(?) with the characters. While in the first game i cant wait to finish an attempt so i can get new dialogues, i find myself almost wanting to skip them i this one. None of the new characters seem interesting, most of them seem way too serious in a boring way, and the ones that are supposed to be more comedic, like Dora and Narcissus, don't even come close to the funny interactions with Dusa or Theseus. Even most of the gods from the first game feel stripped of their uniqueness and the new ones range from "they're here i guess" to borderline bad (i have a lot of problems with how Hestia is portrayed but maybe it is too early to judge), and Melinoe herself lacks any form of charm her brother had. I get that the tone is more serious than the first game but serious doesn't have to mean boring. Anyways, i'm still enjoying the game overall and hope the rest of the game proves me wrong

I dislike her voice acting but mells personality is far better zag. Zag was charming only cause he was a Mary Sue or a character.

Dusa is honestly an insufferable character. But that's just my opinion. It'd be arrogant for me to say that dusa is a worse character than Dora or Arachne (which is actually the dusa analog here, not Dora, so the comparison with dusa and does is just superficial).

I hate narcissus (mainly the VA) but I like him a lot more than Theseus. Theseus dialogues were the most cringy part of the Hades 1 runs.

Maybe once the other half of the story is actually implemented we'll see more dialogue. Just an educated guess though.

In what way is Zagreus a mary sue though? The whole game is him repeatedly failing until he eventually gets strong enough to consistently beat the game, same as all roguelikes really. I also don't see how Dusa and Aracnhe have any real correlation, Arachne isn't a comedic character imo, she's just there to give you buffs like Sisyphus. Theseus is a matter of taste i guess, but the fact that he is so much more narcissistic than Narcissus himself should be a bit alarming.

I hope so too, but i don't feel like there is much to build on in terms of the characters' personalities

I don't think completely changing the characters is something you can do at this stage in development, especially for a game like this, but i wasn't there for the early access of the first one so maybe you know smth i don't

I also found myself wanting to skip dialogue now that I'm farther into the game, I get it, things are bad and everyone needs Mel's help, 90% of the conversations you have with someone don't have to be about that. It also doesn't help that this is how everyone talks as soon as the game starts, everyone just tells you the exact same thing. It makes the writing predictable and boring.

The only characters I've kind of enjoyed talking to are the side characters you meet during runs like Arachne, they have their own things going on that aren't really related to your mission so they feel more refreshing to talk to. The conversations with Moros are also kind of fun with his roundabout way of telling you what he's actually thinking, it's fun writing.

It's got it's charm and interesting bits but they're pretty spread out. I think it would help if the gods, who you probably speak to the most, would actually have something different to say. Maybe they could add more conversations between the gods you've talked to during a run and not just have them interact with each other ONLY when you get a duo boon? Those conversations are usually fun and interesting, just give us some more of that.

I agree. I almost dont wanna talk to them. Dialogue isnt much interesting or funny

Some are some aren't. I enjoy talking to Hecate, Nemesis, Eris(sometimes), Skelly, Dora, and some of the gods/other random characters but the ones that are boring are REALLY boring.

Odysseus is a snorefest, Narcissist doesn't actually feel that narcissistic like Thesus did. Echo's "echo" gets old pretty fast, Arachne I kinda just ignore most of the time never really feel like listening to her.

I think they also removed a lot of the charm from some of the returning characters. Like, why doesn't Aphrodite call me little godling anymore?

I think it's the bad voice acting that ruins it. I'd love to have them in other languages to find one that works.

I like about half the characters in the game. Kind of the same as Hades 1. I do miss the Zag, Hades, Nyx dynamic. There isn't anything like that in 2. But 2 has more field characters that I quite like.

I think that's one thing i miss a lot from the first game, when gods would talk about other gods or other events and their opinions on them. So far almost every time they just talk about how chronos must be stopped
