Hades II

Tips for damage?
I can have runs which I think are going very well and they are- however it feels like i exponentially do less actual damage as i progress even if I am using (my beloved) axe and my DPS just cannot keep up with the increased hordes of enemies with increasing armor and hp.

Getting abilities that do bonus damage to armor are great for this. Zeus's blitz also stacks as you do more base damage and adds up fast.

For every boss but Chronos, the time stop he's is amazing. Great for clearing rooms, and every other boss in the game even if your damage isn't the greatest.

I think the best tip for damage is to not go all in on one aspect of your kit. The biggest key to big damage is to have multiple sources of damage rolling at once. In addition, there's an Arcana you can obtain pretty early that increases damage enemies take if they have 2 or more statues inflicted at the same time.

Filling out boons for all your abilities helps a lot as the run goes on. Having an enemy stuck in an omega cast, that may be doing persistent damage or applying a status effect, after you've applied some status effect with a tap of your special, before you start spinning on them with an omega attack will skyrocket your damage over just spin-to-win.

Will take your tips into consideration! My main strats were usually to focus on raw damage which was my issue I suppose, combining things like Apollo's beam on cast dissapation to do AoE on groups of enemies while i herd others away to a more managable fight. I'll try stacking curses like I am a spirit who got wronged while alive.

Going all in on raw damage was your mistake imho. Most of the best damage in this games comes from synergies and/or interactions between boons. If you do that with the axe then sure; you get big deeps but you'll stay really slow too....

A Demeter Cast can lock up your enemies which gives you a perfect window to fully charge your whirlwind... add Zeus' Blits to that and you can get off 2 or 3 procs of that whilst your cast holds... add the lightning proc to that and you can splash stuff outside of the cast too to soften them up... with a Hestia special you can finish your whirlwind with the charged special to annihilate everything directly outside of your cast... maybe killing them with huge explosions.... which proc your lightning again to stagger them; which gives you enough time to charge back in and drop another omega cast...With the dual doon from Zeus/Hestia this means everything that DOESN'T die from blits will do from the scorch
You won't deal as much damage.... but then again... your enemies won't have the time to attack either.
Add some armor strip to that and stuff can get wild.

...just an example ofc...

EDIT: My first Eris kill was with the axe btw... so speed does NOT have to be an issue if you're methodical and strategic enough with your picks

omega moves basically need to be spammed at all times. Omega Casts are great to get the boons for.

Something to note is the Huntess arcana doesn't buff any omega attacks. So if you're using it you want to try to lean into regular attacks or regular specials.

Favorite axe build aphrodite keepsake. Start with Aphrodite attack buff, pyschic whirlwind (hammer), attack speed if you can, some form of magic regen so you can keep spamming. Spam omega attack and attack while in omega attack shreds everything expect chronos because he has dummy thick hp pool, hp and armor help you especially if your struggling to dodge certain things (chronos)
