What did it cost for you? $40 NZD here, equates to roughly $25 USD. Pretty cheap from my perspective if you're talking about an established, and well renowned company like Supergiant. Bastion was so well polished for an initial IP from them, and they've only built strength upon strength since then..
Edit: Don't worry, I've seen the other posts.
Few hours, game will literally keep you occupied for weeks...
And speaking for myself, no, no I would not have bought this if it retailed at a drastically increased base price compared to Hades 1.
However, I am tired of the posts trying to compare Hades 2 to the EA version of Hades 1 when it comes to gameplay and gameplay mechanics. Hades 2 competes with the complete version of Hades 1, not with the EA version of it. The game doesn't need weapon aspects yet in order for us to compare the weapons in Hades 2 to those in Hades 1.
Yes, there are some developers who increase the price of their games as they add more content to them during EA. However, those games usually start at a much lower price than Hades 2 did. But then again, Hades 2 is already rather fleshed out compared to most other EA games.
Pro
1. cheaper than retail 70 dollar standard
2. get to give feedback and play the game as it progresses
3. get to play it earlier than anyone who wants to wait for launch.
Con
1. Bugs and crashes normal
2. Game feels clunky and poorly optimized
3. Waiting on content and patches
4. Could be in EA for unknown
Completely false statement. An average player could beat this game in a single day. Replayability? Sure. But content wise i'd say 10h+ ish.
Also agred. I dont mind if they charge 30 bucks for the FINAL version of this game, but EA should be max half of that price for the content it provides and also benefits the people that supports early projects by paying LESS than the game should be at final stage.
Idk we don’t have data but I doubt most average players are beating chronos 1 time in 10 hours. Especially with the UI issue of people not even knowing to how to upgrade grasp which can hold someone back there are some posts about showing how it’s common occurrence and resource grinding you have to do. I know some people here are really good at the game / or have a lot of experience from Hades 1 but I doubt that the average player will be able to do stuff that fast especially with how careful you have to be with selection of boons and banes as well focusing on incantions a lot if you really want to progress which mean putting effort in what resources you want to farm and stuff. It’s a lot of effort and there are lot of hidden things you wouldn’t quite expect especially you need to do since there is a lot more depth this game in how you have to juggle more things like, hex vs magic/ magic regen, when to use specials vs when not. What cards to use what weapon what boons are good vs which are trash etc. simply put I and lot others will probably and probably do have a skill issue and that’s okay to admit
