It was my favourite god from the first game because of the laughs you get when you pick the boon.
Apollo on the other hand.. Weak, boring, uninteresting, badly drawn.
They tried to give him some queer look along with the race swap just like they did with Dionysius but it was such a failed attempt.
I don't think anyone is race swapped. I have multiple white friends that just randomly look Asian. That Negus Genghis did a number on humanity (yes I know he was much after but from a design perspective, this might be the logic of why he ended up looking like that without it being a result of culture war ♥♥♥♥) so I see Hermes and like think "hol up, he look Asian." and then the thought ends there. As for people looking darker? It means they spend more time out in the sun. You seen a south Italian? A Cypriot? God forbid, a Turk? They can be light as hell but can also be dark as ♥♥♥♥. I think they call them Mediterraneans. But when you're not trying to create the narrative of a GREAT WHITE RACE. These small differences between Europeans are actually quite quaint and not really worth purposefully forgetting. No narrative, no cognitive dissonance.
Gods are always a reflection of their people, you will never see a black Amaterasu or a white Exu.
This race swapping is a very particular aspect of american current culture.
But I digress, like I stated, the skin tone is never a problem when the art is nicely done, it was great on Dionysius but it's terribly done on Apollo.
Negus please. Enough, you'll be happier if you spent less time complaining about the various agenda's of powers that be and just focus on productive things such as self improvement through exercises, education and prayer. I have less than zero respect for what you're doing here. Negative respect, what do they call that?
They're not race swapped, nothing you can point to solidifies that and what ever agenda they have the drawing it the way they drew it has no impact on anyone what so ever. Try a bake up a narrative that suggests otherwise, I'm in the mood for a laugh.
While I'm not a designer, the sun god having skin that looks as though its seen a lot of sun, might make some sort of sense from a creative standpoint.
