Not Really Loving These Weapons
I appreciate they went for a different route besides the axe from Hades 1, but still, I truly only care for the Staff. The daggers I think the special is a bit useless, the axe while fun is a bit too slow for such a fast game, and the other 2 weapons Im really not a fan of.

Even the aspect in my opinion dont make them more exciting... In Hades 1 they made more signifficant changes to the weapons.

Maybe its just me but I find myself playing with the staff mostly...

It’s okay just do what feels right. I know that people say you should try to learn the new mechanics and try new stuff which is is true but at same time if it doesn’t work for you it just doesnt. I feel the same way kind of the axe and staff and maybe dagger are only ones I will probably ever go far with and that’s fine. I don’t cast and mainly focus on attacks with the axe which is fine. Maybe it’s a skill issue and maybe it’s holding me back but that’s okay because that’s what’s fun for me. If you feel like maybe trying a new thing or new combo every now and then but just do what makes you happy.

The weapons all have a learning curve to them. Except the staff, none of them are the type you can button-mash your way through like in the first game. Practice makes perfect, keep at it.

Daggers demand finesse, using the charge-attack as an extra dash to dart between enemies as necessary, as well as to set up backstabs. The special is primarily for applying debuffs like Weak or Blitz, and can do to incredibly efficiently if you get the Hammer boon that lets them ricochet between enemies.

Axe forces you to commit to attacks and punishes you for unsafe positioning, essentially punishes you for overextending yourself. The special is a guard for a reason and if you're using it right you can tank just about any attack in the game. Basically like they combined the sword and shield from the first game, while making the shield less busted.

All of the skull's attacks do massive AoE damage, and easily does the most overall damage of any weapon in the game right now. All it needs are boons that give +% damage, and the situational awareness to pick your ammo back up. Which the special can help you do, being an extra and long-range dash. Fully charged, the special clears screens.

The Torches are the only weapons I personally don't like. Damage is too low, makes you stand still and commit to beating on a single enemy, the higher-damage charge attacks take too long to spin up and are too expensive on MP to keep going for long, and the special is a difficult-to-aim shot. Weapon's the only one I'd say needs a rework, and when I run it I typically focus on buffing my Cast and dodging around instead of using it.

The torches can have some good damage with the right boons if you focus on their special, but their big problem is that the special doesn't stagger enemies. Combining the regular and omega specials and cast with scorch can build it up obscenely fast, but it's a dangerous strategy that needs very careful dodging to work.

I can agree that weapons from the Hades I were really amazing. Each were fun and looks beautifull. In this part I like only couple. BUT ALL OF THEM LOOKS UGLY

it takes a learning curve because they are new

Yea I finally gave the skulls a try and it actually feels good using the omega special to charge and pick up skulls that dropped after attacking is a nice rhythm and if your close up you can keep spamming attack without worrying about ammo

Staff - basic weapon, melee + range, good choice
Daggers - Feel like a worse Staff
Flames - If your idea of fun is trying to passively dodge while spamming orbiting orbs that cover half your screen and what's happening in it... sure
Axe - It's THE weapon that feels truly different from others in Hades 2, it actually has it's own identity as a slow but heavy hitter, and that's amazing, but it went a bit overboard with the slow part, even with buffs to recovery time
Skulls - Tedious... I see what they were trying to do with it, but it's just not fun to do.

axe is pretty fun . rest i didnt try yet . ya daggers are ass

The daggers, with the right aspect can become true assasination weapons. With either the aspect for backattacks or the boon that allows you to make back attacks you can do perfect single target destruction runs.

The skulls have a nice synergy where you can fire all the skulls and then retrieve them with the omega special, then dump your cast (charged or not), dump all your skulls in a direction again and then use the special to dodge out again. Combined with some of the anvil perks you can do some serious mass destruction with them... Aside from the daggers I would say it's one of the best weapons to facilitate your mobility with.

Meanwhile the axe is just a straight up DPS weapon... imho; there's little flair to them

There's still one more weapon incoming. They can tweak/fix up the weapons and can make them more fun to use, especially if many people find them meh/not fun etc.

Just give them bullet points and suggestions. I do hope the new weapon is more exciting/new looking. Something with a Lunar shape? idk.

Remember this is EA. Right now most of the weapons do not change their function at all in other aspects as they did in the original - my bet is that they will be changing this for the full release. Tweaking and balancing weapons is one of the most time-consuming parts of the game, and since they do not plan on releasing the full version until 2025, I'm sure we'll see these undergo a lot of changes.

In the meantime if you play, give them feedback in the other forum and help them improve!

Main problem I have with the weapons is that even the aspect are pretty boring and don't really change the gameplay, outside of maybe pan and charron.
And the majority of them are going towards either special or cast spam, boring imo.

The diversity in hades 1 was much better, even without the aspects.

And there's only 1 weapon to save it, hope they have a lot more aspects to balance things out this time around.

Staff= agreed.
Daggers= Actually, the daggers are the most OP weapons by far. Almost everyone are agreed about that.
Give it any boon and he'll be more OP.
Flames= Agreed. It need some SPECIFIC boons to get decent. It really need tweaks.
Axe= Agreed.
Skull= Skulls are different depending the way you wanted to play with.
If you want to do the full potential, play it like a grenade launcher.
Some peeps play it like a shotgunand still remains fun.
But both ways remains powerful as hell.

On Topic:
Honestly, i prefer Hades2' weapons than H1' one, mostly because H1' weapons feels me like i cut my arm to get 2 feets.
H2' one feels like i want to choose which body i want to get powerful.

I actually do like the daggers a fair bit - in fact my first victory was with them.

I think a big sleeping point on it is the Omega Special... some of these bosses are pretty big, so if you can get behind them you can really do some decent chunks of burst damage with a percentage modifier like Apollo. Can even add on the Daedelus upgrade to make them return with the potential to backstab for even more burst damage.

Alternatively, the daggers are a prime target for Zeus magick primed chain lightning boon - you can get the effect off several times in a matter of seconds due to the sheer speed of your attacks, which allows for some great crowd clearing and burst damage in it's own right.
