Hades II

Nocturnal Arms Ranked
Here's my opinions thus far

Nocturnal Arms

S-Tier[

Descura: No weaknesses and has flexibility to work with any God build. Aspect of Circe will solve almost all mana issues, and you can switch between short-mid-long range with ease. Aspect of Momus was not reliable thus far, I'd wish it give a negative attribute and have it so special kills heal instead.

A-Tier

Lim and Oros: Aspect of Artemis is the strongest base weapon you can use in the game currently. A guaranteed block + temporary criticals will just annihilate any enemy. Giving focus to improving your Omega Attack will see you just teleporting to each enemy and one shotting them. The other aspects work more towards being cautious, but just go Artemis and destroy everything. Only downsides is a weak special and range being an initial issue.

B- Tier

Zorephet: The most satisfying if you can get the rid boons to support it with the highest damage output, but the easiest to be damaged while using. Your goal is to speen as fast as possible to shred every mob that appears. Issues are that the regular attack combo leaves you vulnerable, the special is just extremely circumstantial and cumbersome, and you need to commit to tank builds as you will take damage while using.

C- Tier

Ygnum: The range weapons in Hades II are just awful, Heart-seeking bow and Adamant Rail these are not. Slow, inaccurate, and ineffective with just about half of the Gods currently in the game. You only play these because of completion, not because you enjoy them. Any positive you can say about this is already being done more efficiently by the melee weapons listed above.

D- Tier

Revaal: You use this if you want to challenge yourself. Any issue with Ygnum is just compounded. The Adamant Rail's ammo downside was offset by its fire rate, accuracy, and damage. These skulls are just slow, lobbed grenades that will miss the target almost all the time and whose damage is just pathetic. This is the weapon that needs the most TLC from the developers currently.

I'd switch Ygnum and Revaal, because at least Revaal is kinda fun to use, Ygnum just feels so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ slow and unsatisfying to use.

Kind of surprised by your placement, my easiest runs by far have been with Revaal in hand. Use your Omega attack to place the skulls for AOE when enemies group, or run away and let them run at you before firing to hit. To pick the shells up, charge up your special and dash through the enemy. Naturally, mixing in your cast to slow enemies will make them prime targets.

Daedalus' Hammer helps too; it can increase your ammo (up to 5), and boosting the weapons aspects can have some nice bonuses as well if you do that (Mel's aspect adds damage for each uncollected, spent shell). Some good boons to get come from Hera (Attack = Hitch), Hephaestus (both his "Sprint to explode" and "special to explode" boons are great for her), and Hermes (speed boosts, charge boosts). Boosting your cast with Demeter's freezing effect is great, but as long as you have a good effect, it's fine. For Hex, take Dark Side and power it up to the final boost if you can, that invulnerability effect is AMAZING for tough fights and panic moments when you're caught out of position.

Edit: Should also mention Revaal is downright broken on Polyphemus and Cerberus. Used right, those fights are incredibly easy.

Skulls are S-tier, use the one that gives power per skull, pair it with Zeus. You'll melt. Finished heat 12 with ease. Take the hammers the increase skull count and auto skull return.

Genuinely baffled as I had nothing but bad experiences with Revaal, but if people are defending I'll say I was wrong then about its placement.

I mean a Tierlist is honestly rather pointless, There´s so many possibilities and ways to make literally any weapon or Skill OP.
Considering how vastly different weapons are, obviously everybody figures out his own personal List. some weapons have a very high skill ceiling but are absolutely insane if you manage to play it well.
While other Weapons, as for example the Skull rocketlauncher, starts out quite strong especially for brutce-forceing your way through the Game, which, lets be real, majority of People right now do, considering how new the Game is.
But once you turn up the Heat and suddenly can´t dmg-race Guardians anymore or oneshot your way through half the Game, These weapons/playstyles become alot less viable, rather fast.

Ravaal is definitely better than you give it credit. It's early game can be a little weak if you don't get good hammers or boons, but that's the same with all weapons.

If you get zeus attack, zues cast placement, and apollo cast, game is ez mode.

Move ygnium to F and I agree

As others pointed out, the problem with Revaal is that it works in a different manner than most other arms, so it seems of little use. The matter of the Skull is that while is non powered attacks are really bad, their powered counter parts are *very good*. Revaal is a mortar ( or a sniper rifle with the right upgrade ) that requires to recover his ammo.. something that his powered up special does swimmingly. Add the use of a Omega cast, and you can do some nasty combos. All this while staying far from the target you're shooting. The special can also be used as an emergency dash, and if powered up I think you're invulnerable while doing so. It's a Magick intensive build, true, but I feel that's what Revaal is supposed to be about anyway.

In my opinion Ygnum is the one I had the worst time with. Enemies in hades have either the tendency of going straight for your face or keeping well away, meaning that the floating attacks ( both special and normal, of BOTH aspects ) are too slow or too close to be of use. The ghosts do not move fast enough nor do enough damage to be worth it, and the floating balls are terrible.

I kinda agree on the rest, though I'll admit I am more partial to the knives rather than the staff. I still have to use the staff more though.

Kinda wrong, you can guarantee a good run with the axe, just pick the aphrodite keepsake to get her attack boon and pretty much nothing else matter, and even if you're not lucky you can get by easily.

On range weapons there's a lot more conditions than one the axe or daggers for example.
