Hades II
Scorch is really, really bad
I want to compare Hestia's scorch buffs to Poseidon's knockback buffs:

- Standard Poseidon buff directly adds 20 instant damage to every attack, while also adding an AOE that does 20 damage to nearby enemies and knocks them back
- Standard Hestia buff adds 20 theoretical scorch damage which may eventually resolve on the enemy it hit in multiple seconds, assuming they don't just wipe it instantly by switching phases. You consistently end up with hundreds of scorch damage that would take multiple minutes to resolve, meaning it's all basically wasted

If you're lucky, you might be able to waste another boon slot on an additional boon from Hestia that makes the scorch auto-resolve at 150...for half damage. So you've wasted two slots and it's still not as good as poseidon's base boon.

That's really bad. At minimum considering how scorch is so awkward to use, it should at least add drastically more damage than poseidon's, like each hit should be 100 scorch or more since it's enough of a downside having to wait for it anyway

Yeah, Hestia is equivalent to Dionysius from last game, except is WAY worse.
Game has a lot of balancing to work properly.
Yes, any backloaded dmg seems to work very poorly in this game. Zeus's boons are so bad too 😫

Zeus's Blast is one of the most powerful boon paths possible, you're just not considering how hard it scales alongside your other increases in damage. Once you can proc the debuff and reapply it immediately, you will totally melt stuff with lazer bolts.

Hestia's Scorch does feel a bit weaker than Poison did, but the rest of her kit has some of the best utility elements available so she's never a bad one to have in your God offerings.

Nice, I think I will tinker around and try out.
Zeus Blast is much better than Ares Doom was, for the very fact that you have agency over when the damage procs. It's also possible to pop the Blast with non-Zeus actions, so you can apply the debuff with one ability, and then pop it with whatever you have that hits hardest, like a Poseidon Omega Cast for example.

Yeah, scorch just feels too slow. At maximum, scorch alone can do 80 DPS. More if you include the explosion at 300 scorch, but that's hard to do with any of the slower weapons.

I feel like scorch should tick faster the higher it's stacked. Rewards you for actually using the boon, and makes the DPS actually impactful. Maybe it gains tick speed until it reaches 300, and doubles that speed with the tick rate boon.

Zeus though, I hate blitz. The debuff doesn't last long enough IMO. Might be good if you built a run around it with very fast weapons, or lots of attack speed or something, but on its own, it's so hard to make work.

I think it would feel better to use if it was more of a "Static Buildup" sort of thing, where it applies similar to scorch, but auto-detonates all of the damage after a couple of seconds, rather than depending on a certain amount of damage to be done before detonating. That would at least play well with rapid fire builds, which Zeus shined with in H1.

This is just wrong, a full Zeus build is the strongest thing you can do in the game currently and the safest while doing it.

Just play the game some more, lol. Your suggestion literally already exists as a Boon along the Zeus chain. Beyond that, if you're not able to deal enough damage from *anything* within the time frame after you apply the Blast pro by the time you're halfway through Fields of Mourning, you probably don't have enough damage to win that run regardless of what you're packin'!

My first Chronos kill was with Charon Axe with scorch cast and scorch attack. With those two I could reach 300 scourch with the cast + 3-4 attacks. Scourch did around 81 k damage that night.

While using the staff, if you get the zeus special and the zeus cast you can really get the blitz going. Although it works best with single target, you use omega cast which continually strikes the target, then you spam special which should trigger blitz a few times per omega cast.
I'm not a huge fan of scorch or Hestia right now, but I will admit fighting Eris by just sprinting around in small circles and making sure all her shots hit you is pretty funny.
We playing the same game, some of my most consistent builds have been using scorch. It's free dmg on top of your other dmg, especially once ge the dual status arcana card for more dmg
There is one advantage to scorch though, which is that it's a debuff for privileged status to activate off of.
I feel scorch is strong, just that the DoT is a bit slow. I think if the enemy's HP bar is fully covered by scorch the DoT should go a bit faster. If they buff scorch it's going to be broken asf.

I don't know what some of you are all about. I find scorch and Zeus boon to be rather powerful. Zeus cast boon, is extremely powerful for single enemies - in last run I added Blitz to my special (using staff), and I just had to to omega cast, and that spam blitz with special to melt enemy HP. Very safe, very effectve,

That's why there is a boon to make all DoT damage go down at once once it reaches a threshhold. Unboosted scorch is good for crowd control and dealing with smaller lower HP enemies, while upgraded does well against high HP ones as well.
