Hades II

this game is f**** hard (not a complain though, it's a compliment), BUT-------
But there are a few things that need to be adressed in order to balance it a little:

- It's just ridiculous the amount of resources you don't gather because you don't have the right tool, and the ones for the one you have suddenly become scarce. That's on purpose without a doubt and it sucks and frustrates A LOT.

- WHEN you can FINALLY get a familiar that supposedly will help gathering more than 1 kind of resource at the same time, it can initially gather only ONE of said resource, and the thingyies needed to upgrade them are WAY more grindy than they should. Again, not fun, but frustrating.

- the weapon balancing, it's just bad. The dual sticky thingies that launch magic and the skull that launches skulls are basically unusuable. The axe gets KIND of usuable after a FEW upgrades on it's level, same on the dual daggers (axe being TOO slow and daggers needing to get TOO close). The main staff is the only "usuable" weapon on the beginning, specially (also mainly) if you can acquire the vampiric upgrade.

- don't even get me started on the weapon aspects, most of them are so bad that makes me wonder why even bother. Some because the weapon basic stats are bad so the passive doesn't help AT ALL, some because they just suck

- please PLEASE give each trinket thingy a proper image, those rings with letters are TOO confusing, which makes me have to read and search every single one I have in order to find a specific one

- no double dash boom??? come onn

- some movements of some bosses deal WAAAAY too much damage. I mean, don't get me wrong, I like the spike on the difficulty and all, but this isn't a souls like game. I've been needing to have nearly 150~200 health to even GET to chronos on the underworld (didnt beat him yet though) or to get to eris (also didnt beat yet, those 100% dmg auto buffs with her shotgun/machinegun/air striker weapon is just too much)

- Some boons need some proper buffs or even rework, like the daedelus hammer upgrade for staff that makes you weapon hit 2 times 100% of the attacks, while a boom from apollo/hermes forgot which gives you a FIVE (05)% chance of that happen (on common rarity). This makes no sense.

- The sacrificing mechanic although is interesting, it's getting more frustrating than fun. The idea of having to make dificult decisions on the upgrades is good, but the lack of sinergy caused by the sacrificing mechanic isnt. Just takes the fun out of the game



THAT SAID, I'm loving the game so far, and can't wait for future updates with the fixes balancing new weapons and UNIQUE IMAGES for the trinkets (the latter what has been most being annoying me by far, my ocd/adhd are suffering as hell for that)

I do agree on the "magic balls lunching thingy". Did not figure out how to make it viable at least. The skull on the other hsnd - omg, this thing destroys everything.

since i've used it very few times, maybe I've yet to find a daedalus upgrade to make it viable on later stages, because I'm always finding myself out of ammo and having to dodge 3 times more stuff than would usually dodge just to pick them backu up lol

I think the weapons need a bit of tuning but aren't that far off.

For that weapon I've found you are usually much better off using the special as your default rather than the attack, it's then got a pretty decent damage out put and is great against groups of enemies.

The skull launcher I'm getting used too, i think the default ammunition should be a little higher, it felt much more manageable when I got that upgrade.

The axe is pretty good but does demand you get your dash timing right so you queue the attack and dash in mid animation.

Sister blades are tricky on the range but pretty immense if you are stacking curses, maybe the damage could be a little higher.

For the bosses I'm okay with the damage but I actually think they have too much health they can feel a bit of a slog at times.

The trinkets definitely just have placeholder art at the moment so I wouldn't worry about those.

Summarized my thoughts, thanks, I feel like the game starts being playable when you start upgrading Arcanas, the good example being the Death Defiance one, which gives only one charge instead of three in the original. Yet, the constant need of different reagents and metals and herbs and wood and etc. feels like it dilutes the fun. It definitely should be rebalanced, I'm with you on that.

I really really resent lotuses, because I need 1 each of a few resources and 14 lotuses right now. BUT LOTUSES ARE ALSO NEEDED FOR A REPEATABLE RECIPE THAT YOU NEED TO UPGRADE FAMILIARS!

Pretty sure that's what makes upgrading them so annoying per OP's comments too.

You said everything i felt about it.
Im hopeful since this is why were here, to say it while its early access and hoping they balance not just the combat but the grind itself.

I cannot even begin to make good builds because everything i get are grey even with maxed out god boons, even if it lets you rarify to Heroic tier ONCE you first need to get a purple in order to rarify it but to get a purple tier reliably often to rarify the one you want to be Heroic first you need Arcana cards, to get Arcanas you need ashes and various resources, to get them to be ACTIVATED you need souls, and then to level them up you need a different resource and we havent even begun to collect the in game shop currency, the bones, and usually it takes your whole run to farm one by one, assuming you get far enough with barely any upgrades for many runs to come.

I am at about 24 Arcana slots and the price is already around 200 to increase wich takes like 2-3 runs to collect and then i go from 24 to 25. G rock ? What is even G rock ? Oh the rock thats really rare to mine in the third underworld stage ? Oh yeah good luck surviving to even have a chance to mine that and until you do you are starved on every other resource that would need a shovel, to be frank i dont even know what fish are for because i havent gotten the time to take the fishing rod, i have all the tools and i still need to take my shovel / Pickaxe everytime because i need those resources still.

I dont understand why so many bosses in the game now spawn adds, both first boss either you go down or up, both add a bunch of adds and have a playstyle that requires you to stay out of firing range. Both have phases that is just all about keeping all the distance you can.

The weapons are underwhelming, none of the weapons really work, i like the idea of these weapons i dont like how they play. The axe is so slow for so little DPS in turn. The sickle is way to reliant on being close wich most enemies right now punish really hard, even just simple mobs with spin attacks or the ghosts screaming at you holding their breath for eternity, the double wand is so bad, i tried to work with it, it doesnt do any dmg while it drains all your manna and then you do even less. Unless you do a Poseidon Sprinting build why would you even sprint ? You cant attack while sprinting and most abilities for sprint suck and or they drain your manna fast. The double dash is a must, i bet the only reason sprinting is even a thing because they built it from the concept of having larger rooms like towards the end but then i dont feel these large rooms are justified. Just so many things not really working. I dont feel any snowball happening. I get perfect scenarios to make something really cool work and it just blows tf up.

I can tell that i have lots of stuff that i still havent unlocked but because its just such a chore to get everything moving one by one and in the meantime not even luck can give you a good run because you just lack the foundations that was a given in the first game. Early access and im hoping were here to get these things in order.
