It's hard to balance random encounters like these to feel both challenging AND fair even when you lose, so there's no telling what changes the devs might make in future updates.
Same. I like it too. I enjoy the stakes.
The 1k DMG in 5 seconds is a bad challenge however and should probably be re-tuned.
I agree. She's a pain in the ass.
Like people have said with Nem picking certain paths or buying items from Charon, you can beat them to it if you're quick enough, and it nudges you to make some quick decisions. You might lose out on resources, but that's just part of the natural balancing act of the game.
And if you need more time to think about it, you can always press Esc to pause the game.
Not always though, I had some Charon encounters where she had already picked before I even got there.
