Chronos Strategies
So after a bunch of hard ache I finally was able to defeat Eris for one of her apples, but since Chronos has evaded me, I wanted to have a forum about everyone's game plan when it comes to Chronos (whether it's worked or it's close to working).

Thought putting out a honest forum could help with certain spam in the current discussions.

Best place to be at almost all times is a few meters directly in front of Chronos. It means you're close enough that you can dash behind him if he slashes, to the side at the last second if he dashes, remain still if he does his boomerang (it'll go right around you), or dash away if he performs his time bubble or orbital moves.

His slash and boomerang have similar windup animations. You need to wait in place and, if he raises his scythe all the way up and has a slower wind-up, dash behind him.

Your cast will severely limit the range of his dash and make it easier to avoid. The only really annoying part about the fight is his summons, but if you have a decent build going you can deal with them in short order.

Good luck!

If you just want a free win, go for the Skull Weapon > Special Aphrodite

With the correct hammer, you should be dealing 500+ damage per Special. The important part is that you are invulnerable during the animation and it moves you.

The bad part is that it costs a lot of mana, but that can be mitigated by Chaos or other stuff.

Zeus' boon that allows you to use your cast at enemies location + hestia/demeter/apollo dot cast damage. he's incredibly easy to avoid if you're not forced to be w/in melee range to damage him. I also like the boon from zeus that reduces max mana but gives you good mana regen and apollo's boon that reduces cast mana cost. finally the keepsake that increases damage to the last enemy that killed you is really damn useful since chronos is just about the only enemy that will be killing you. another protip is if you upgrade your chaos keepsake to max, equip it right off the bat, then unequip it after the first guardian, you'll keep the epic level boon for the rest of the run. ideally that'd be the increased cast damage but several of them are useful as well.
