I completely despise the way progression works right now

I'm 12 hours into the game and have yet to unlock any way to upgrade my gear. I know it is possible bc streamers seemed to miraculously have them all unlocked instantly and there they are, weapon upgrades, tarot upgrades, weapon aspects.. why am I a dozen hours and two or three dozen Nights in and don't have access to these?

How am I supposed to make attempts at Chronos knowing full well I'm actively being handicapped with absolutely no knowledge of how or when it can be fixed?

I got to the lanky bastard twice, found out I was missing out on almost all of character progression in the game, and completely lost all motivation to keep making attempts. The gate should be things like Minor Rewards because it gives the player a goal, and lets them know it.. yknow... exists.

Incremental progression and unlocks are literally in the Roguelike DNA, why do we have to do a 20-30 hour prologue to actually get the damn progression?

I got the aspects after around 12 hours or so, still haven't beaten Chronos or even seen his second phase (I assume he's got a second phase btw, not sure and I don't wanna know :)

Think I was on run 20 or so but I'm also terrible at these games.
