Are we getting Ares and Dyonisos?

I understand Athena is busy from Hephaestus dialogue? idk if it's bound to change later as EA progress. Or if they plan to stick with the current gods.

While I understand that Hestia fills in the slot for DoT. I was hoping we'd had all 12 olympians in the base game this time around, feels like a wasted opportunity to me.

Ares + Dyonisos was my fav combo in Hades 1 and I abused it both with the bow and the railgun, so really wondering if they will be added later or if we'll be short 3 olympians this time around.

I mean if Dyonisos no longer is the DoT king, that is fine, just give him some other theme to go with? But yeah, wish we had Ares over Aphrodite....

And imagine having DoTs from both Hestia and Dyonisos in a single build, that would be very fun lol.

Anyways there's nothing in the road map about adding further gods so just wondering if we'll be stuck with 9 olympians. I guess another clue are the keepsake, haven't unlocked them all yet, but they go from A to Z, so if they are all in-game already, we'll def be short of 3 olympians I guess?

IKR? I reinstalled H1 yesterday to finish epilogue and remaining prophecies, and had to do Curse of Drowning with Ares general and Poseidon cast. Holy ♥♥♥♥, what a cursed run. Just suicided myself in lava the moment I got the damn dual boon.

There was some application for doom if you scored it on special as a supplimentary effect. But as main boon line, it was so terrible

they kinda reworked zeus and hestia into a better ares and dyonisus, if they return i home they have some overhauls

Zeus feels like a better Ares rn. Burn from hestia also just feels like better poison

Ares had pretty busted combos. IIRC the "New File" speedruns relied on Athena dodge + Ares attack in order to beat the game in record time.
And the whirling blades were pretty good as a cast or as your aid since it made you invincible for the whole duration.

I was thinking the same thing. Ares boons were awesome in the first. Get the blade cast, get the boon that makes it follow enemies, and it absolutely shreds them. If you pair it with the boons that make it bigger, make it pull enemies in, and make it do more damage for each consecutive hit.. it's absolutely trivial to do anything at that point. You just cast near enemies and they're dead, even bosses.

But that's luck, and also just being smart with your rerolls, keepsakes and mirror upgrades to ensure your chances of landing a lot of ares boons and getting the duo boon.

Doom was great too if you picked supplemental boons to support it. Bonus damage when applying multiple stacks, bonus damage but takes longer to activate, and merciful end that immediately activates doom effects when you deflect. There's synergy and room for pretty much any boon to be great.. you just have to figure them out.

Ares blades were amazing, both for the dash and for the special.

But yeah they say in the game that Ares is busy cause of the war so I assume we won't see him much or ever.

i just really liked dionysus as a character, his silly drunken ramblings were always a total joy to listen to, he was so fun

Hunting blades is insanely good, but meryful end on fists is one of the best speed running combos in the game. HB is a safer/slower approach and ME is a full blitzkrieg hp shredding in your face build.

I agree, to me Ares boons were OP on most weapons and the combo, Doom with Dyonisos were very strong, like doom hitting repeatedly any hangover afflicted enemy. Then he had the flat +xx% damage to everything boon. He had the dash leaving blades behind, which can be further enhanced to suck enemies in and his call turned u into an impervious whirlwind of blade as well which carried on any boons enhancing said whirlwind. Ares was imo one of the most OP gods and I got to difficulty 16 thx to him mostly.


However I think we will get them:

I haven't unlocked all keepsakes so idk if the last slots on the second line will be for them, but I sure hope so.

However Hephaestus says Athena is busy testing his weapons, and some other character, was it chaos? says that Zeus sent some his children down olympus take care of the titan invasion. Maybe these are just to make us wait until implemented in the game and we'll get all twelves olympians in the end? idk who would be the last keepsakes then, maybe some characters I haven't had access to yet?

Hestia is just a cheap and bad version of Dionysus in term of background damages while she have some burst/spell possibilities but meh. I really hope we'll have more boons and gods cause currently the new gods are not that good.

Well idk, one of my best run yet was with a mix of aphrodite and hestia. I like being able to let scorch deals damage while i'm dodging ♥♥♥♥, I like her cast or special and that boon that increase damage for each fire essence you get. I really don't like Hera's boon though

I was wrong on the keepsakes though, just haven't met a few characters apparently :(

We have Hera later in the game, so i believe the list goes up to 10 Olympians, i agree that Dionysus and Ares should be there too.

You're right we have 10, I was saying 9 because 12 minus Athena, Ares and Dyonisus = 9

But actually the wiki says the 12 olympians were 13 as sometimes the list features Hestia, sometimes Dyonisos. I guess that's goodbye dyonisos lol. Always assumed Hestia was replaced by Hera in the "official" list
