But afterwards stay at range, bait the direct arrow attack and go for a chunk of damage
When he spams the mirv bombs run to the other side of the arena, wait for them to come halfway and start sprinting to the other end
It's really chaotic for the first time but he ends up being quite easy when you get used to it
But yeah for a "Guardian" enemy he's way too strong and common
Side step projectiles and dodge on top of the aoe melee attack, and that's how you stay in melee range.
Oh, and Charybdis is a female monster, usually pared with Scylla in a narrow straight that forced sailors to pick between being eaten wholesale by Charybdis' whirlpools or picked off one at a time by Scylla's heads. Nasty due, we should be thankful we only have to deal with one of them.
All that being said though... it seems odd that a mid-level boss has all the trappings of a final biome boss like Hecate. I've never seen a mini-boss with a full health bar at the top of the screen... except for Asterius, so I guess there is at least one reference for this encounter being valid.
I have a suspicion that Charybdis is in fact the final boss of the Rift, or at least will become the final boss once the rest of the surface is finished. It makes a kind of sense, thematically. You're ship-hopping across the Rift in these risen wrecks, Charybdis comes up, boss fight, she takes the ship carrying you down in her death throws and you wash up on Eris' beach with the boss drop. Meanwhile, Eris has finally grown bored of shooting you and flown off somewhere else to be a problem.
