Hades II

Hades II

More Locations and Alternative Routes Please?
Having an absolute blast with the game so far—this shapes up to be a more than worthy successor to one of the best games of the last decade :8bitheart:

My biggest issue with both the previous entry and with this one so far is the lack of variety in the locations our protagonists visit (and, in turn, a limited number of bosses we can encounter.)

Some of the best roguelikes with procedural level generation out there feature location/biome variety on one level or the other, ensuring high replayability, strategic thinking, and extra engagement:

Dead Cells' feature of choosing biomes from numerous different ones is very cool and provides some space both for planning your path in advance and just rolling with it.

Binding of Isaac's alternative maps (e.g., Basement vs Cellar vs Burning Basement) with a branching aspects available later in-game (e.g., choosing between Cathedral and Sheol) also make every run unique and enable strategic planning.

The first chapter Hades having this predictable and repetitve order of Tartarus → Asphodel → Elysium somewhat made sense narratively. The second entry obviously leans toward this 'guerilla'-like narrative, so it would hugely benefit from some alternative routes, both story- and gameplay-wise. :diceythief:

Hope the new location(s) in works announced by Supergiant are exactly what I mean. Would be so cool to be able to stray off the obvious and familiar road and go on a risky-but-rewarding adventure or, conversely, choose a more chill but less fruitful path toward the goal.

Otherwise, this game is beyond cool so far, and I can't wait to see what a beautiful title this turns out to be when it reaches v1.0 :reheart:
