Hades II

Are these the final character portraits?
I'm not talking about Charon and some other characters who are clearly placeholders. I'm talking about all of the gods that have what seem to be completed character portraits. Most of them are just standing there with their hands on their hips. The art is good, but it just feels so uninspired compared to the dynamic portraits in the first game that tell you so much more about the characters from how they are posed.

Chaos for example is an almost objective downgrade.

Chaos looks like it's possessed Meagara's body or something. Very confusing.

I'm 99% sure Charon's portrait is a placeholder and they will add in an actual portrait soon. I'm more focused on the ones that look complete.

the miss use of woke just makes you look like an idiot dude. it is pure brain rot created from doom scrolling. literally touch grass and get natural vitamin D from the sun to help fix your mental health.

Not gonna lie I don't mind most of the changes but the second I saw Eris I groaned, not to mention how awful of a mechanic it is having her be involved in a run in any way.

There are two actual character portraits which are CLEARLY rough drafts (Hades and Cerce). You can tell they are concept art just by the way they are drawn... Muted colours and rough edges. The rest of the missing portraits are using cloaked placeholders such as Charon and Narcissus.

No, those ones are not final portraits.

I agree, they feel ... off? Not only in design, but also in proportions? Like Odysseus' neck feels way out of place, just like Milonoë's right hip on the home screen and her right breast during dialogue, and Zeus' right arm. I'm not an artist though, so I might see it completely wrong.

Medea is also a rough draft.
A lot of it is placeholders and will be touched up on, or in the case of "hooded figure" types of portraits (Charon for example), they will get actual art.

"Objective downgrade" you call it, while I would say Chaos was the first one to make me actually say "WOW" out loud. It's a matter of opinion.

Same with [REDACTED] when you run into them.

Also the door into Hades' chamber uses the same heavy pencil placeholder design.

There is quite a few places where icons are also not finished (heirlooms, boons), so clearly a lot of art is still coming.

its so neutral and androgynous just more grounded- like an eldritch being beyond time turning into a human as to not completely shatter someone it is commuting with,

Couldnt have said it better myself, and I love how disconnected his dialogue is. Like its trying and failing to understand humanity/gods and has this vaguely interested disconnection from everything
