"blessing" of strife

is there....i dunno, any positives to this? i feel like it's ended several of my runs so far. why does it appear sometimes? i haven't finished a floor with it on, is there a reward of some sort? it seems very punishing and out of place.

Just keep going, she stops showing up after a couple of attempts in the 2nd zone, then shows up once in the 3rd

Weird, she showed up the first two times I got to the Ocean zone, then once when I got to the fields, then never again as far as I can remember. Not sure if it has anything to do with talking to her in the crossroads/fighting her at the end of the surface path but I doubt it

it seems like blessing of strife is meant to prevent the player from progressing too fast so they can go back and try out more mechanics, arcana, weapons, etc. kind of reminds me of leshy and his bear wall from inscryption

After the run where you first encounter her, you talk to Odysseus and he tells you directly that the more times you encounter her the less chance there will be that you encounter her again the next run. That eventually she will get "bored" of it.

So as tealblues already said above me it's literally a mechanic so that you don't progress too fast. Devs don't want us clearing whole EA in just few trys lol.

yeah, she shows up based on how fast you're progressing. it's meant to slow you down, but you can still overcome it if you're good enough. fair compromise.

Something I just thought of: How likely will it be that Eris will be the one in charge of the Pact of Punishment-like challenge runs?

Yeah I think that's just about right, though it's not immediately *as violent* as Leshy's grizzly wall

Not gonna happen. She is Act 3 boss on the surface. Pact is managed by Hecatia.
