The boss isn't easy.
But it's not like it's super hard.
It's like anything else. You need to figure out how to do it. Some ppl got it on the first try. I got it on the second. Some ppl need to look up strategies. Surprise, everyone's different.
You're being too defensive about this.
The reason why ppl are speaking up like that because thread is by someone who didn't figure out how to beat the boss consistently yet and trying to say it's too hard.
Again. I kept dying to Meg the first time played Hades 1. Does that mean Meg is hard?
Jokes aside I obviously love her fight, but a few attacks can feel a little lame sometimes (Jetty my beloathed). I pretty much always speedrun taking out Roxy right away because the breathing room that gives you is pretty important, and it lets you separate Scylla and Jetty easier. Hitch also has kind of an interesting interaction with them, because they share a health bar but can still be afflicted with hitch separately anyway, so you can tack on a pretty substantial amount of extra damage that way too. Hestia's boon that lets you absorb projectiles while sprinting can be pretty good for dealing with Jetty too (or at least her one attack with the stunning projectiles), but that relies on you getting the right boons which is kind of luck based obviously (or you could equip her keepsake I guess).
It's a fight that took me a little while to learn, and I'm still not perfect at it, but I have a lot of fun with it and Scylla as a whole. It's wishful thinking, but I hope later on we get the ability to invite them back to the crossroads or something as a stand-in for Orpheus, playing music from the soundtrack and stuff. Could also create some fun interactions with Odysseus (or not so fun, depending on who you ask lol).
Just as with the Chronos wide area attack, if you find yourself wildly out of position you can use the i-frames on your dash to avoid the damage by timing anyway. Part of the boss tactic is learning where to be to avoid the need to do that. Roxy (the drummer) never hits the same location repeatedly in quick succession, so you never need a multiple dash to avoid it.
If you stay in the area around Roxy until she's defeated there's no real issue anyway.
All of the bosses feel super tough at first because of the Eris debuff, which isn't a lot of fun, but I assume is just an early access thing anyway.
To be fair a rouge like is designed for you replay and die multiple times. I was dying a lot and I mean a lot (like every boss in this game for me) of this boss and Hecate early on but eventually idk something clicked. I also learned how upgrade grasp from this forum so I had better upgrade had a good keepsake and learned that I like the axe and high dmg builds. My builds got better so my dps is higher which is very important it makes the boss fighters easier since you just kill things faster so build it’s important. I also noticed the drummer pattern of attacks. While I still take dmg every now and then if you really look at it you will begin to see that follows a pattern. It’s really easy to dodge into wrong direction and take dmg. The drummer has dmg that can hit you from anywhere so it’s important to focus the drummer. Also builds with heavy aoe can triple or double your dps since they all share a health bar and sometimes be close together. Overall I think as you builds get better and your learn which boost you get as well learn to dodge more attacks you will have much easier time, it gets better I promise. I also try to go for more hp and armor so I don’t have to always being dodging so hard this plus having a high dps mean you don’t have to spend so much time on defensive.
Focus on killing the drummer first.
Besides, early access Hades was a massively different experience too - there's so much more room to grow!
All that said, I'm not having any trouble with the dash in particular, the previous games mechanic of multiple dashes were a crutch for those less willing to learn patterns and have patience in fights (not withstanding a certain mechanic later on), there are already boons which exist that do help for those having trouble.
So in summary:
