Umbral flames are very weak
Yes I know that the umbral flames are ranged weapon and they won't deal as much as the axe or staff but after counting all the DPS and they are very weak in comparison to other weapons. You need to get a lot of buffs to make damage actually matter (The highest I got was 45 per tick) and on top of that it drains you out of magick in a sec.
Umbral Flames:
Normal - 15
Dash ATK - 15
Charged ATK - 50
RMB - 25 (Per tick)
Charged RMB - 20 (Per tick)

Witch's staff:
Normal - 20
Dash ATK - 30
Charged ATK - 120
RMB - 10
Charged RMB - 80

Sister blades:
Normal - 20
Dash ATK - 45
Charged ATK - 100
RMB - 25
Charged RMB - 25 per tick (Max 125)

Moonstone axe:
Normal - 40 > 80 > 160
Dash ATK - 40
Charged ATK - 50 Per tick (Max 550)
RMB - 10 (Per tick)
Charged RMB - 140

I don't recall if bow was bad in Hades 1 but I don't think so. It's sad to see that because this weapon is fun in my opinion but any fight turns to residentsleeper

From the feeling I've gotten from this weapon, I think they want players to use it in mana-regen heavy builds. The omega dmg buff is nothing to sneeze at. You only have to pair it up with, for example, a boon which regens your mana if you're inside the cast. I guess it'll be hard to balance, but either you get the mana regen (or substantial mana pool) or you go into full cast magic build.

well, it's not really usable, you can't stay still until the omega proc late game.
Best use for them I have found is unlocking the aspect that makes the basic attack stay on the field and detonate when it gets hit by the special, increasing damage of the explosion per aspect upgrade. Does a lot of damage and can blanket the field in explosions if used right

Is that an Anvil or Pliers upgrade?

It's an alternate aspect upgrade that you do in the pool with the weapons after unlocking alternate aspects for weapons at the cauldron.

The weapon feels bad to use attack. 1. The project speed is slow and the homing is not strong enough. I play with controller. This is the projectile speed how long it takes to reach the target.
2. The omega attack takes forever to charge up. You need to attack for about 5 seconds, then it starts to charge up. With the hammer to shoot out a single high damage shot, it takes forever to charge up, then after shooting, I need to release the attack button and then hold it down again. It should keep firing.
3. The homing is not strong enough.
4. The damage is not very good.
I have not played around too much with the special. Overall the weapon feels clunky to use.

Special focused build is decent. But the weapon boon for special is garbage sadly.

The issue with that is for the attack, the omega takes so long to start procing that most fights you cant use it, and the omega for the special is awesome but it doesnt interrupt animations.

I dont think its unplayable but the way that they play is so boring to me that I just avoid using it, even when they get the bones buff

the base version pairs really well with Zeus.
Zeus has a boon which causes lightning to strike all foes as long as you have no more than 10 mana. The omega attack rapidly drains mana to zero. Also, there is one that primes 50 mana to cause your attacks to chain lightning.

I was also fortunate enough to get Artemis's homing arrows fire when an attack hits later on which pushed the synergy into OP territory.

This weapon is unusable in my opinion. It takes way too long to channel into omega. Its range is abysmal, it has about the same range as the dash strike with the staff. For a “ranged weapon” this is inexcusable. If you could at least hit from a far distance the low damage and such could be more forgivable. It can only reliably hit one person at a time. Also, it’s “movement” while channeling is a joke as you move so painfully slow you’re not going to do anything but “move” into enemy attacks. I hate this weapon, I hope they redesign this from the ground up almost.

I thought this weapon would be best choice because of the range. And then I realized the range is so terrible.

It's partly when I see threads saying melee builds are so weak and the game forces you to go ranged, I'm like wtf.

I feel way more capable when I use the damn axe

weird... this is my favorite weapon.. the standard right-click attack is insanely efficient and high damage, and I can get multiple omega right-clicks going at once for constant bombardment of everything around me

imo, the magic drain is easy to manage, and usually sitting on a full bar, unless I'm stacking omega specials.. I'd have to check which arcana cards I'm using, I'm probably running something that's granting magic/sec

That and the skull feels atrocious to me, damage is really lacking compared to the axe or daggers.
Maraca is most likely the worst weapon because of the special that is god awful, every time i tried it you just take WAY too long to clear rooms, mini-boss and bosses, it feels really bad.

My best runs of it use Hera mana recharge, any of the auto attack omega spam hammers, and then whatever else buffs either attack damage or attack speed.

You can pretty much never run out of mana thanks to Hera and a couple mana increases, and you can also dash and use the normal cast without interrupting attack.

It doesn't seem like a lot of damage, but it's pretty much constant dps with a decent setup. There's very little downtime and you can avoid a lot of stuff.
