I reached Chronos once with them, but it was with an extremely niche set of boons and a hammer upgrade I doubt I could reproduce.
It seems like there are much fewer strong builds with them. They push me into omega cast builds mostly because the weapon is a tactical wasteland.
attack is basically nonexistant. damage too low, windup too long. maybe solve both by boosting the frequency? still... i mean... 15.
special is usable, albeit in a rather unengaging way.
buff material.
a lot of folks are chiming in here, saying the torches are bad because the player can't beat Chronos with them. i find them easier than the skull. i'm like fear 20 on the torches and 16 on the skull - my personal anecdote isn't objective either, but they certainly aren't impossible to succeed with
I tried to do some combo which would make Torches more useful, I tried to do Hephaestus Attack+Aphrodite Cast, or Hestia, or Posseidon, but nothing worked. So I'll give up on Torches entirely.
Got the magick regen arcana and chaos room regen too. Spammed special as much as I could and was lucky enough to get the hammer that you get 3 flames instead of 2. That's huge for damage.
Choosing the right fear testaments for me was the hardest part.
If I want a straight line projectile to be my main damage dealer, I will go with the Staff's special any day of the week. It is faster. Much stronger than the Torches weak attack, only slightly weaker than the Omega. So if you consider the long channelling time, you will do a lot more damage with the Staff. And the Staff's special does not use magick at all. It is just a constant high damage, no restriction, spammable projectile. If you get the hammer to get 2 homing projectiles on your special, it becomes so busted it's ridiculous (that will probably get nerfed). Other hammers that boost the special are incredibly good as well.
The only advantage the Torches have is that you can sloooooowly move between your dashes. Negligible when you look at the DPS difference.
Again, not trash tier, just noticeably below average and needs a buff.
Had luck with triple omega special hammer. Then Hera charm and i was plowing through horde of enemies.
4x Omega Special (meaning 4x3 = 12 circling dots) buldozer build.
Aspect of Melinoe is hexer aspect. Charge up a lot of sweaty balls, use your hex for invuln (dark side, big blast or even the jump - doesn't matter), charge in. I've killed oath 24 chronos that way:

Aspect of Eos is broken with good enough Hera mana regen - Born Gain. Just never stop shooting and you'll do ridiculous damage - keep in mind that you can still move, dash & cast while charging it up. It gets even crazier if you get "splitting attack" talent. Here's oath 12 chronos with them:

Moros is all about aspect of apollo attack. It just makes it easier/more efficient to hit foes with secondary detonations and, as long as you keep spamming, the chain of explosions is good enough. Don't have a vid for that yet but it was fine. Not as imba as Eos but fine.
