Eris
Can you tone down the eris damage scaling mechanic? Being locked out of content by a borderline instakill mechanic is a frustrating experience. I get story progression is important but i don't want to have to refight Chronos 12 times until she finally lets me beat the game

I get a feel that whilst in the first Hades the story progression relied on you beating Hades in this one relies on you failing. Which is why you get this trash padding. I can't confirm as I haven't beaten chronos yet but I do get the feeling that this is why....

You could also beat the game in the very first run in the first game whilst here the massive sponges make it kind of uncomfortable

Yeah Eris is making me put down the game for the rest of the day. Least favorite thing about the game. Only makes sense to me in the context of deliberately punishing early access players to keep them stuck on the same content for longer.

Be very happy.
She makes you take 20% more damage for the rest of your run, which goes up 5% for every subsequent encounter. You can see her as early as the very first room of Oceanus. By the time you reach Cerberus you might be taking +50% or more additional damage and, as far as I know, there's nothing you can do about it.

In all the runs I have done I have never accounted her in this form(I have fought her, because that is a thing). Im interested what people are doing to make this happen.

it happens the first time you arrive to the 3rd and 4th zones and never again.

people seem to forget eris literally is just a way to put breaks on players who got a very good build early game and will trigger like 200 events at once if they finish the run so early.
If you have played like 10+ runs eris wont appear to curse you anymore, even after your 4th run she will never appear in Oceanus anymore and so on, i just met her once there and never again.

Hades 1 was more about putting the math agains you, early zagreus was so unfathomably weak you couldnt statistically get past the first biome until like your 3rd run so a safety method like that wasnt needed

and only if you arrive really early, if its your 20th run and you reach the 4th region for the first time she wont be there

But I have gotten to Chronus and beat him, plus I have fought her in her own arena.... As I said I havent ever encountered her by the way that is being posted... So and I will so again what triggers this encounter with her?

Hmmm.... That doesnt make sense. When is too early? Your logic is really questionable, given my own experiences of the game. For instance I hit the 4th region, long before my 20th play through, but yet never had this happen.

idk if its tied to upgrades or number of runs, i can tell i found her in oceanus on my 1st run, and i saw people in the 3rd run reach oceanus for the first time and she was already gone, so basically she only appears if you are getting too far too soon because you got some really good build.
Reminds me about how in inscription if you beat bosses too fast, he will cheat and put an unbeateable deck in front of you since thats also a game which relies in repetition and progress through runs so it would kinda ruin the fun to trigger like 100 different events in a single run rather than letting the flow of new content slowly pour in

Hmm.... Both of your explanations, dont really make much sense. but Im sure given time it will be made more clear. What's the time frame for killing a boss too fast? IF this ofc is your explanation.

Too early as in you're stomping through the layers within the first 3 nights of the game... don't know the exact numbers, but Eris is only there to stop experienced players from easily stomping through the story on their first tries.

If you die a lot before making it to each layer then you'll never encounter her until later in the story.

Hmm experienced..... Your assuming is funny in regards to your explanation.

like players who played hundreds or thousands of hours of hades 1 and could conceivably get through their first run or two without dying in this game
