Story. First one was fantastic in that regard, and is worth playing on its own merit.

Otherwise, IDK really what you could miss. Not like you can import saves or anything.
Absolutely yes would be my answer. Perfect games like hades don't appear often, its a once in decade game for sure. Its simply not skippable as a game in general.

Without Hades 1, we would not have Hades 2. Beyond that, Hades 1 does have some interesting story beats that make sense in Hades 2, particularly regarding Demeter, beyond that, nah, you can make sense of Hades 2 otherwise

Except for story? You miss a stellar soundtrack, amazing art, gameplay that is (in my opinion) unmatched. It's worth getting the first one regardless. Is it necessary to play the first one to understand Hades II? No, not really. Honestly, I'd recommend playing Hades 1 first. But you don't need to.

Hades was GOTY but journalists will always hand out BJs to Neil Druckmann. Youll miss all the story and a great game.

Don’t confuse Geoff Keighley and his wannabe Oscars show with journalism. Plenty of outlets gave Hades GOTY.

Yes. Worth every minute of your time, even without attachment to Hades 2
I also should say that Hades 2 somewhat expects you to have some knoweledge of game mechanics from first game already

It is not mandatory to play the first game to play the second, tho it is STRONLY suggested as some cameos and in general a lot of stuff can be better experienced with the lore gained from the first game
For those that didn't know, Hades has become the first video game in history to win a Hugo Award. That's in fact huge one of the most prestigious awards. The story and narrative is simply TOO good to pass up.
