Hades II

Hades II

The Character Designs are Weird
Not woke: female protag based on an actual Greek mythological figure.

Woke: weird racial choices for Greek gods.

I know the official statement is 'uhhhhh well they're supposed to be the gods of mankind and that means ALL of mankind,' but imagine if Izanagi or Adroa were some white guy. I doubt a studio could use the same justification on why a non-white ethnic religion was being whitewashed.

Game is fun (not as good as the first game IMO but this is early access) but the revisionism is kind of a turn-off. Nobody complained playing any of the GoW games that there wasn't enough inclusivity.

All of them are Europeans, idk are you talking about. Hestia is embered, that is why the color is black. Their details are a bit "low res" though.

Honestly dont mind most of the designs, i’m only not a fan of Hestia.

But i like most others, granted i havent gone to the furthest point available in the game right now, but so far i dont really have any complaints besides Hestia.

Odysseus is literally described as being a ginger, Hestia, Apollo, Hera, Hecate, Selene. You can't be serious when you say they're all European.

The Hades 1 game also has non white chars. Hermes is asian and ares is black from the top of my head. Greeks and Romans knew black ppl btw, so literally just quit whining.

Hermes changed from greek to an asian god they just forgot to change his art to wukong

And people complained about it back then too. And they are once again complaining about it for the second game because they did it again.

They did but they did not make one of their gods retroactively black in service of them, for inclusivity. Once again, sorry but what is the argument here?

Nice one...
Reminder you are not doing yourself favors by addressing people with superiority, especially if your argument boil down to nonsense that basically says "I'm right so shut up".
You will fare better with a logical argument, constructed with respectful language. Unfortunate that most people are too emotional to see this.

an interesting take on it comes becoause of alexander the great and how he assimilated conquered countries cultures into the greek view of the pantheon (dyonisus being an olympian because of him for exemple).

Hermes was Asian? And yeah Hades was black and it was weird but I think there's a difference between a standalone character and half of the cast.

Would it be whining if Sekiro had a bunch of non-Japanese people and then Japanese people started complaining about wtf FromSoft is doing? The standards you're defending are only standards when it's certain done with certain ethnic groups
Gods are just Gods nothing more nothing less. They can appear as manifestations of whatever they like whenever they like. Infinite possibilities. Their color in a game means too little and should not even be an issue because we truly don't know in what forms they manifested. Its all fantasy/mythology after all. People should be focusing more on what the Gods represent and their inner thoughts, not the physical appearance which "may" be different each time, depending on who they are talking to. Yes they can have many many forms, and that's why its mostly irrelevant. We just get to see one of the infinite manifestations they can possibly have.

why would a god of Ancient Greece take the form of person from Ancient china ? to gain worship in Ancient Greece ? it makes no sense .

Yeah pretty much summed my thoughts. Not all but some design choices are questionable. The color and grandeur of the first game isn't there and it feels like a conscious choice.
