LMAO, you want more proof? The Dialogue is more than enough.

They missed an Opportunity for replacing one the Gods for Dr. Martin Luther King.

But yeah, these Corrupt DEI Clowns are as Hypocritical as they can be.

Ironically, the funding for most of this Social Engineering Garbage comes from "Vampire Ultrarich" like the ones that usually enjoy getting featured at the WEF.

It fits the theme of the character - Home and Hearth. There was a whole thing about that in the old world I believe. Providing both to travelers and those in need I mean.

Fits the theme? ... you do know that ALL Greek gods, demanded sacrifices and tributes in order for them to MAYBE give their blessings, but especially in order to stave off their ire, right?
Heck Hestia's perhaps the only goddess who received her tribute first and foremost even before Zeus since every house had a hearth devoted to her.
Part of her purview was the sacrificial flame, so she received a part of the sacrifice meant for each and every god. If nothing else she should have been portrayed the opposite of what she is in the game.

Don't you read bro? She's been eating the rich. She already got what was needed as a sacrifice. No guillotines needed even! (this time) ;P

Apparently you are the one who does not read. Hestia took not only part of the sacrifice of the other gods, but also the sacrifice and tributes she demanded from her faithful, REGARDLESS of their economic background, rich, poor and those with medium income were all required to give her a sacrifice.

It's less "eat the rich" and more "I don't care who you are or what you do, I decide that you owe me and you will pay or the sanctity of your home is at stake".
Hardly the person who can talk about others, let alone Charon being greedy for demanding one measly obol as his fare.

Yes, I am Greek and I am very displeased with how my country's mythology has been twisted in order to cater to some US artist's ideology.

THAT is how ancient Greeks saw Hestia, not like some fat grandma.
Unfortunatelly, you didn't read the entire wikipedia article you mentioned...

I actually did, but you just left a vague "you didn't read" it in an attempt to discredit it.
Are you saying the part about contemporary scholars?
then how about this painting of Demeter and hestia?
https://www.theoi.com/Gallery/K13.1.html
Or perhaps this statue of Hestia from the Hellenistic period that was unearthed in Turkey?
https://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/hestia-statue-to-be-displayed-in-museum-175988
here is the moment they unearthed it.

Don't tell me, this renditions don't suit you so you'll just ignore them?

So, let me pause this conversation for a second, because something has just occurred to me. I understand this angle that the depiction of her is not historical (I haven't looked at the links yet, I want to make this addendum first. Have you ever looked at images of Jesus Christ as portrayed by different cultures? Do you think they are problematic too?

The coal hat, and the ironmongery around her waist and her THROAT? Is she a Kingdom Hearts boss that needs to adhere to a theme? This looks just impractical and stupid.
What is it with the fire motif at all?
She is the goddess of the hearth!! Yes, there is a fire burning there, but her domains are hospitality, safety, oaths! Not simply FIRE!
Why is she wearing something that looks like a kimono with a hood?
Even if we ignore the odd choice and accept that the theme is all-important she should wear indoor clothing. Hearths are seldom outside.
Also her general figure - the greek gave their gods human bodies at the absolute peak for a reason. Demeter in Hades(I) may have looked old, but not in a way that made her look weak or fragile. This hestia looks like she is the goddess of ancient fastfood instead of the hearth.

And are her skin and hair so dark and patchy because she is covered in soot???
Is the god of war now covered in scars and wounds, the god of the forge covered in burns?
Who would worship a goddess that wears her incompetence in handling the thing she is supposed to be a god of on her skin?

As a random guy who likes mythology I can honestly say that I hate this design with almost as much passion as narzissus loves himself.
At least they gave her an agreeable personality, although from those two screenshots it seems almost overdone, and she shouldn't speak bad about others.
reading this post has unironically made me have more fun than any line of dialogue in this game

With this design I can see where the virgin part comes from
FreelancerFL May 8, 2024 @ 4:43am
Shes got vitiligo too bruh I was wheezing when I saw her.

Unironically the worse design choice for a character. Can't wait to see what other GREEK gods they make darker than black. And don't get me wrong if it makes even a shred of sense I don't complain, case in point, Dio makes sense based off his lore. Hestia and Athena make 0 sense for why they aren't Mediterranean bronze.

Her skin is the result of skin condition Vitiligo

Inclusivity turned beyond your usual "woke" meter.
