DEI invented hating rich people and wanting to support people down on their luck
The coal hat, and the ironmongery around her waist and her THROAT? Is she a Kingdom Hearts boss that needs to adhere to a theme? This looks just impractical and stupid.
What is it with the fire motif at all?
She is the goddess of the hearth!! Yes, there is a fire burning there, but her domains are hospitality, safety, oaths! Not simply FIRE!
Why is she wearing something that looks like a kimono with a hood?
Even if we ignore the odd choice and accept that the theme is all-important she should wear indoor clothing. Hearths are seldom outside.
Also her general figure - the greek gave their gods human bodies at the absolute peak for a reason. Demeter in Hades(I) may have looked old, but not in a way that made her look weak or fragile. This hestia looks like she is the goddess of ancient fastfood instead of the hearth.
And are her skin and hair so dark and patchy because she is covered in soot???
Is the god of war now covered in scars and wounds, the god of the forge covered in burns?
Who would worship a goddess that wears her incompetence in handling the thing she is supposed to be a god of on her skin?
As a random guy who likes mythology I can honestly say that I hate this design with almost as much passion as narzissus loves himself.
At least they gave her an agreeable personality, although from those two screenshots it seems almost overdone, and she shouldn't speak bad about others.
Supergiant Games is like 25 people. Amazon and Apple are rich companies, not Supergiant.
"And are her skin and hair so dark and patchy because she is covered in soot???"
It's,,, it's just vitiligo dude, it's just a real life skin thing that some humans can have and thus this god that's part of the pantheon based on mortals' various imperfections both perceived and otherwise has it, that's literally all it is, jesus christ lmfao
I love getting mad over the goddess of the hearth looking warm and motherly too, the wording suggesting that her being hefty goes AGAINST the idea of being a god of hearth and home, as if that's only represented by someone skinny - all that combined with the "I like mythology" mention is preemo doofus energy, amazing
Every """woke""" game that succeeds is actually part of an unfathomably rich cabal, that's the only way """woke""" games have any success, that's how this works silly
I'm sure they aren't getting any money at all by adhering so faithfully to ESG guidelines. It's not surprising to be honest, the first game was "sensible woke". It was expected that they'd double down with the sequel.
So shes not covered in soot, she got a skin disease??
Ok, but that is worse.
You DO get how that is worse, right?
And where the hell does this notion of conflating "fat" with "motherly" come from?
Putting aside of course that Hestia cannot possibly be "motherly" since she is VIRGINAL.
And that family is, along with marriage, the domain of Hera and NOT Hestia.
