Love the Game, Not a fan of SOME of the new Art
So far I am really loving the game. I think its doing a lot of things right and has some new takes on things which is great.

However some of the New Character art feels "off" from their previous title. First i will say Some of the art is GREAT <3 I love the Design of pretty much everyone in the camp Including Melinoe.

For me though some of the Gods are what throw me off. I'm not a huge fan of the New Zeus art. In the first game his appearance had more "Power" to his appearance and in this he kinda just looks more idk plain? the outlines feel more curvy and less sharp compared to the first game.

Something too me also feels off about Aphrodite, I cant quite pin what it is but it just doesn't feel as great as quality as the first games. Maybe its the weapons shes holding?

Artemis too also looks and feels more relaxed and less "Powerful" than in the first game. I feel like there was more presence to her and her pose compared to now. where it just feels more like "hey im here".

Poseidon also just seems so much more ... "im here" the first game he felt much more "im the cool uncle vibe" with his trident behind his head and in a chillin pose, but here it feels more like yup im standing straight up like everyone else.

So maybe thats why it feels meh to me, almost everyone seems to have this more uniformed generic standing straight up pose, and it feels like some of the Character was taken away from characters from the previous game.

The first game also had sharper black outlining and maybe thats another thing i was a fan of, there were also more Sharper edges and less curvy when it came to the line art portions. this might be why its feeling Off too me.

Is this gonna stop me from playing the game? nope
but i do feel like SOME of the art quality is deff a step down a little (not all of it).

Yeah, the redesign of the old characters feels really off to me. Chiron is probably the worst offender as he looks absolutely nothing like his ingame model/old design. He also weirdly looks almost identical to Narcissus.
The only redesign I actually like is Demeter. Makes sense that she is in warriors attire since they are at war with Chronos. Obviously not a big deal and subjective but still

I just don't get why the existing gods needed change in the first place - just ran into chaos and just.. why?

the Charon art is just placeholder.

Just like Hades 1 a lot of the Models are probably placeholders. As someone above me stated this is almost certainly the case for Charon (who got his finished art late in the first EA cycle as well).

Ah, I did not know that. Thanks for the clarification

I hope so, But idk a lot of the Gods already seem pretty "finished" so I cant image all the ones i mentioned to be placeholders.

since your concerns are more about stance they might as well be valid, as the gods indeed seem to be finished artworks. MAYBE thats not final though anyway since in the first game Nyx had a lovely artwork as well which was changed to a much more extensive and expressive one in the later stages.

Aphrodite actually looks more like a woman this time around so it’s an upgrade even if it’s still not perfect.

I'm guessing based on how different some of the art looks from other in art game that they're intended to be updated down the line. I do hope so.

I was talking to my friend earlier about how we both preferred the portraits in the first game, and I think we nailed it down. In the first game, the portraits of the gods were all drawn in pose of motion. For example Hermes flying across the screen, Poseidon thrusting out of the waves, Artemis brandishing her bow like she was coming out of the brush ambushing her prey etc. The portraits in 2 pretty much show each god just standing there as if having their picture taken for a driver's license. I really do hope the current portraits are placeholders and we get the much more lively style of the first game.

Here's to hoping they are placeholder and get more polished portraits in final release.

Huh ? She looks more like a Man to me in this game. And every Scientist would see all the much more Masculinity in her whole body....if you would undone the Breast and make the lips a little smaller its a Man 100%.

Idk the face is almost identical as is her body. It's just a less feminine pose. I actually thought she looked a little more manly at first but looking back at the first game, it's almost exactly the same.
