Execution, however, is different and is highly dependent on personal taste. I, for one, absolutely hate the new Chaos who went from a mysterious, gloomy presence in Hades I to a generic Anime villain look...and I have absolutely no idea what the artist(s) were thinking of when they designed Hera. Awful. In general, though, I think that a lot of gods are close to Hades I and just received a visual update. And, of course, art is subjective. I am looking forward to modding and the possibility of replacing gods with modded versions.
...and yes, there is forced diversity in the game which sometimes even breaks immersion (Asian Hermes?), but also, it's 2024 and some game studios feel compelled to do it. It's just a single picture though. Yes, forced diversity is always bad, but in the end, it's just one button press and the image is gone. I won't let myself ruin a pretty good game by a handful of bad design decisions - and neither should you! :)
Man, what anime do you watch where the villain encapsulates the very cycle of creation and destruction with a corpse and fetus in hand?
Alot of people didn't realize that at all. Which is just laughable.
lol hell, I saw a person saying well most people who didn't like the new chaos just didn't see the fetus at first.
I was like, that doesn't make it better, if people hating on the art aren't even spending time looking at the art.

I'd say that he definitely looks different, actually, and in Hades II, the artist(s?) seemingly insisted on giving him an Asian ethnicity...which is a decision you can like or dislike.
He literally looks Asian right there. Just the perspective is different. He's always looked asian.
That isn't what it implies at all. The recommend is a thumbs up or a thumbs down, on the whole I'd still give it a thumbs up too for being a fun game but it is worse than Hades 1 in every aspect
What's awful about Hera? She looks fine to me. More than fine, actually. Her color scheme evokes the imagery of a peacock, which is one of her motifs and sacred animals. Her icon being the head of a scepter (also a peacock eyespot) and a notable recurring symbol in her imagery being a pair of interlocked rings represents what she's all about (marriage) pretty well.
I honestly wasn't sure what to expect from an interpretation of Hera in this game, but I feel like they did a pretty good job, thematically.
It's actually rather alarming that people complaining about Hades 2 being more woke just never paid attention to the first game. Like, Hermes' style didn't even change lmfao.
Next thing you know, some ppl are gonna be like, Athena wasn't black. It was just the shading.
edit: he's closer to the camera now, so ppl can clearly see those asian features lololol
I do like the fact that the games look so different, but it's just not my cup of tea at the moment.
But as you've said: some touch ups will happen, and I will keep my eye out on it.
That's literally not it at all.
