returning olympians are majorly downgraded imo, especially aphrodite. she just looks off and looks nothing like in hades 1. doubly important as she's a goddess of beauty. and as achilles has described her as being most lethal with her charm and that the love she inspires deals the most pain in people, why would a character like her need weapons and warpaint

Blatant transphobia aside. She looks great. Have you seen actual statues of Aphrodite? She looks so plain and boring, it's good for game devs to mix things up!

Also, going to be honest, if transitioning made me look as good as her, that'd be amazing.

Supergiant studios is Californian. Characters aren't made to look good, or make much sense in the lore, they are made to fill diversity checkboxes for that sweet sweet ESG investment money.

That's why the art style looks pretty much as if someone gave a Tumblrina a budget to make their doodles more detailed, but the signs of Tumblr origins are still noticeable...

She was ugly in Hades 1 though.

He does not have a tripod. He has a wheeled chair. It is literally named as such in the mythology.

Looks like a wheelchair to me

"In the Iliad 18.371, it is stated that Hephaestus built twenty bronze wheeled tripods to assist him in moving around."

If you knew Greek mythos you'd know Heph has a wheeled chair.
That's the silliest thing I've ever read, Hephaestus had a club foot, despite that he was still a god and could walk just fine without issue and work tirelessly at his anvil...or do you think that the ancient Greeks knew what a wheelchair was more than 2000 years before its invention?

Looks like a wheelchair to me

Because Aphrodite isn't just a goddess of love. She is also a goddess of seafaring and war.
That's completely wrong, you are thinking about Venus, the roman version of Aphrodite, Roman gods are not the same as the Greek ones, for instance Mars their version of Ares, was also an agricultural god whilst Ares was not.
So yeah, no, Aphrodite unlike Venus, was not only a goddess of love, sex and fertility, and not a goddess of seafaring ,war or victory.

So that picture from a painting from 525 BC is wrong. Go call him "fake news" if you want.

That's definitely a chariot.
Layla Spellwind May 7, 2024 @ 6:31am
Chariots are pulled by horses.
Not saying it can't be... but what's the big deal if he's in a wheel chair, are people literally getting upset over a wheelchair in art from over 2000 years ago? XD

Guys why Zeuz in Hades 1 has a strong design while holding a lighting bolt, and now in hades 2 he is without his lighting bolt and with both hands on his waist like a angry mom?

https://hades.fandom.com/wiki/Zeus
i am not joking
this is a constructive critical analysis.
Character design need to change asap.
Layla Spellwind May 7, 2024 @ 6:36am
Greek mythology could do with an angry mom, to be honest. That said, it's usually Zeus that's off turning into animals and mating with women that causes the problems in the mythos. XD
