Games like bg3 and project zomboid are in EA because they need constant bug fixing and improvement
Hades 1 was a different case and now they have a massive budget and if they really want player tester then why not give or hire beta tester
I'm a big cynic and sceptic when it comes to companies and our capitalistic world. And Supergiant Games are obviously also a business, not a charity. However within that framework, I believe they are true artists and are trying to do the best they can and deliver a product that is supposed to be fun and enjoyable, much like their previous games were.
Call me a fan-person, which I am, call me naive, which I might be, but in this case, until SG proves us wrong, I wanna believe Santa is real.
People also tend to conflate QA work with early access. No you are not QA tester - none (or few) of us are qualified to do the work of QA. You pay for the game, get access to an EA build, and you can have fun with the game, while devs get feedback and info they need to make the game better. Or you can wait for 1.0 if that's not your cup of tea.
The choice is yours.
