Hades 2 - Worth to play now or better to wait?
I really want to play Hades 2, but being in Early Access makes me afraid. Is it worth playing now or is it better to wait?

Core of the game's there, mechanics-wise. There's still content to add -- at least another region, plus a probably considerable amount of story -- and they're still tweaking balance and such things, but it's quite playable and there's a fair bit of content already there. I've found it fun so far despite being rather rubbish at dodging bullet-hells, heh.

They've also committed to maintaining save compatibility throughout, so there shouldn't be worries about e.g. losing the accumulated progress of many runs when 1.0 is released.

A lot of the art isn't done and it looks very jarring tbh, I kinda wish I waited. Also the game still needs tweaking and there's a good amount of bugs left. You'll get your moneys worth out of it but I think you'll get an even better experience if you wait.

Lot there, sure, but its mostly the mechanical parts. Absolutely wait.

There is for sure enough gameplay to play it now, the whole underworld route is finished, or atleast u can finish the game like that, the surface seems so far not finished. But expect the weapons to be a bit imbalanced since there was since just about 1 big balance patch, imo there are 3 fun weapons (blades, staff, axe), 1 weird one (skull) and 1 that is sort of fun but HORRIBLE to play as of now on gamepad since the aim seems to be super janky

There's a few janky placeholder art still in the game, and the story can't be progressed passed a certain point...

But there's a solid 25 hours of content. I don't regret playing it in early access.

My plan is to return every time there's a major update for another 5-10 hours. :P

There is far more than 25 hours of content.

25 hours just how long it too me to hit both early access walls and decide "I'm good for now. I'll come back when there's more reason to keep going".

Sure, you can play more than that and keep improving your Arcanas and weapons, etc.

I just felt less incentive to do so without additional content.

Guess it really depends on the type of player in the end. Getting both routes farmable on 0 fear is pretty quick/easy and most players could easily obtain those benchmarks under 30 hours I believe not counting severe skill issues.

Best part of early access is to witness changes happen in real time imo while also contributing a voice to the end result. Patches 1 and 2 have already considerably altered gameplay since launch.

Average runs are probably 30~50 minutes for average players and most people get their first Chronos kill between 20~40 runs (based on reviewing forum posts that ask people how many runs it took to beat x route). 40 runs at 30 min (or vice versa) a pop is gonna be 20 hours, so falls in line with above poster.

Supergiant also has expressed desire for EA players to keep all progress upon release of 1.0. If you are the type to want to finish 32 fear on both routes, farmed as many relationships you can, unlock all spells (cauldron), upgrade all weapons etc EA will provide extra time to knock that all out earlier than later. As is we will still have the entire 3rd act to complete as well even if you 100% the game as is.

It might even be a brag down the line to accomplish things as is since more likely than not the game will get easier by 1.0.

As is $30 is a dang steal for a game I myself have over 200 hours in and still playing/enjoying.

if you dont worry youll burn out until release if you play the game now to much id say go for it. its already worth the price i think. a damn good roguelike, rewarding gameplay loop. for now ill wait until further content but for about 50 hours i was hooked already.

30+ hours of pretty outstanding content already imo. Like Hades, but new.

There's also quite a few dialog options and mechanics that open up even after you finish a run up and a run down. Obviously it's up to the play but if someone beat Dad in the first game once and went "yepp, that's the game. I guess I'm done." then yeah, there isn't a whole lot of content.

This game already has a bunch of content and they are only adding more and more. I think it's already worth every penny I spent.

I think i depends on what primarily motivates you to play. What hooked me in Hades 1 was the story bits and character interactions between each two runs, less the mechanics and game play itself; though I liked those, too. In Hades 2, I VERY quickly ran out of interesting things happening between runs. There is a lot of dialogue, but it is very dull and fluffy. Story-wise, the game is very much lacking right now. So if that's what you enjoy most, you might want to wait for a later iteration of the early access. But if you are mostly in it for the game play and mechanics alone, there is absolutely a lot of fun to be had right now.

The longer you wait, the more mods you have to replace the idiotic garbage the devs put in the game, like the new main character!

It's better to wait if you can. None of us in the Early Access are ever going to feel the pure experience of the completed game.

There's a massive amount of content already, but ultimately you still aren't allowed to beat the questlines properly. On the positive side, I guess we will have the advantage of many hours' practice but I think we've probably all found our levels at this point, and there's a long wait until v1.0.
