Cyclops is too difficult, am I fighting him wrong?
I don't want to just say he is more difficult than Chronos, because that would be just ridiculous coz he has like what? 2 attacks? But Istg I have less trouble with Chronos than with Cyclops. I always die at least once on Cyclops, and my win/lose ration looks much worse with him than with Chronos.

What is your winning strategy against Cyclops? My main issue with him is that he keeps jumping around, making me constantly either dash the circle wave or stay far away, and the window in which I can be close enough to him and safe from the next wave is very very small and very rare.

Please help, I'm getting very annoyed, all I need is that damn wood from the ships, I'm so tired of dying to this guy

I just had a great build against him. Try the staff with moros, get Demeter's attack boon to slow him and freeze his summons, your mana regen of choice, then just spam omegas from a distance. When you can get up close, omega cast him.

will try that, thanks!

when he is hopping, he can hit you, so don't try to dodge under him

if you are having trouble with fire, kill the barrel guys ASAP. if you are using Hitch with the on-death effect, you can hitch Polyphemus to the adds, and then damage him too when you clear the adds

when he is walking, the shock waves spread out behind him, so it's safer to be in front of him than behind him. you can get in front and shoot him or leave an omega cast for him to walk into

Something that works from first day you can go surface and no real investment needed.

Axe + mana regen and/or Hecate keepsake.
From there just spam the omega special.

Though be fairly warned, saving Hecate's keepsake with its boatload of mana (up to 2000) for spam with axe (at 35 mana a piece) will reduce any bosses to names with a health bar that goes down somewhere off screen.

Edit

And of course wiping out Eris with off screen damage is poetic justice for her own stunts in that area.

Focus on first area damage or ranged boons. Fight against him like Cerberus. Keep your distance, run, dodge and take your time if you are not moving he doesn't know where you are. Wait for the window to hit 1-2 times then area if there is enough time then doge out and cast. Don't be greedy and don't rush it. That's why he feels so strong because he is sooooo sloooow you want to hit more but if you stay he punishes you really hard.

1. Stay behind him. Always. His jump deals damage and if you are melee, its gonna hurt bad. Unless you're playing Revaal, then doesnt matter too much.

2. When he is 'looking for you', he really is. He is blind so take that small window of opportunity to kill off the mobs, more importantly, barrel fatties. Their fire will make your life harder.

3. Best time to go all out is when he stomps around and summons mass zombies. That's the best time to strike him... from the front because his tremors moves behind him.

4. If he spots you, he jumps up and lands, sending out small shockwaves in random directions. Get your timing right, dash towards him and you may dash right through one of the waves. Gives you a couple seconds to lay it on him while he recovers.

5. Axe Special, Staff Aspect of Momus spam charge attacks, Daggers Aspect of Pan, etc. My fav weapon is Revaal (aspect of melinoe/medea, both works for me). Shoot range, special towards him, drop omega cast, dash out. rinse n repeat.

Good luck

Casts root him even in the air. If you put down a cast and position it between yourself and him he will jump into it and stop above it.

Thanks everyone, very sound advices. I’ve tried a few already, and it feels a bit easier. I guess I just need more practice with him now

He would give some trouble on unfamilar players with a melee weapon, due to constantly shock wave from his feet plus his leap.
The attack pattern for melee weapons was: dash through his shockwave, attack, then walk aside (not back) before he jumps, then dash through his shockwave again.
It requires some good timing, as not dash early enough, you would lose the time window before his next jump.

He would eventually jump into the sky and drop down a rock to create a very fast shockwave. This could be dodged by dash + sprint to somewhere very far away or be experienced enough to dash at the right time (Not really possible to me to react after the shockwave created).

I think that his shockwave needs to be a touch more visibly clear. That and the collision from his jump is difficult to see as well. The fight is quite tough for melee in general and movement is very important with the barrel guys and all the shockwave attacks.

He is probably the easiest boss in the game.
I fight him like Cerberus. Smack him up, kill the adds, dodge aoes, and smack him up again.
I always stay outside and then pop in for a cast and some damage.

good luck

Don't be greedy.
Simple as that.
Dash after he jumps, dash in avoiding the wave, punish FAST, run.

Build doesn't matter. If you cannot charge any attack, just chip at him.

He telegraphs a lot, and has a bad set of moves.

He just has high dps big AoEs large HP. Also Cerberus easy at low runs. He gets exponentially worse with runs. Where he literally covers the whole screen and his attacks are much harder to dodge cause bigger and he attacks faster the with paw slam chase.

I find he's tricky with short range builds and much easier with long range builds. I've cleared him on 32 fear with no issue so he's not broken or unreasonably hard. Don't try to burst him, hit and run.
