Oh don’t worry, I do and he does the same; been together for over a decade ^^
Although in this game Aphrodite treats Hephaestus pretty well. Unlikely in the "real" mythology and especially Phoenyx Rising (for those who had the displeasure to play that game will know what I'm talking about....)
Same here! Love his smartassery, and I just wanna give him a big ol’ hug! I’d love to see him work ^^
I do like that what liberties Supergiant do take with Greek mythology still make sense, and also makes the gods at least slightly less problematic (and less incest-y). Haven’t found the dialogue between Aphrodite and Hephaestus yet, but good to know their relationship is a tad better than usual ^^
Overall gods are nice to Hephaestus. What they seem to complain is the noise his tools makes hahah
But it's very much in line with the little arguments they ALL have among themselves.
I don't understand the hate he is getting in THIS forum here, complaining that he's "fat".
There are a lot of men with nice bellies that are very strong and can handle some heavy tools very well.
Yeah, seriously. I think I know what you’re referring to, and I went ahead and blocked their sorry ass; not worth replying to someone trying (and failing) to insult me.
But anyway, I think his portrayal in the game is pretty spot-on, and his exchanges with the other gods have cracked me up 🤭
It's a shame though that in the same trials he is just as much of a spiteful little ♥♥♥♥♥ as every other olimpian. Really doesn't fit him.
Yeah, I’m guessing the developers wanted to keep things consistent gameplay-wise; the Olympian gods are pretty prideful beings, after all. Hestia also gets pissed off if you don’t pick her, but thankfully the bouncing lava ball she sends after you is relatively easy to avoid. I’d rather risk that than get hit with the full force of Hephaestus’ hammer, so I pick him every time ^^;
In the first one it served as a backdrop to Zagreus' decision to lie to Olimpus about his quest. You looked at how the gods behave, and instantly understood "oh, that's why".
Here, we are supposed to be saving them? We are their only hope of actually getting rid of Chronos. Yet they still treat Melenoe like ♥♥♥♥, and that creates a question "why am I bothering to help those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ at all"? I hope the story plays with that question more.
your Hephaestus obviously has a much better marriage than the mythological one :)
