If there is no aiming with a controller it isn't good. Even with auto-aiming it robs you of a lot of options.
some aims will auto aim a specific mob instead the one i want, but that's also extremely minor, and can be worked around
i'd really... really like to specifically aim my omega attack (staff). i almost never use that anymore cuz i can't seem to get it right.
Yesterday I had a fight with against Eris with the Umbral Flames. I was like 3ft away from her, there was nothing else to shoot and still ALL MY SHOTS missed her.... I mean... Really???
And if there are summons, the auto aim seems to prioritize the summons instead of the bosses.
It needs some serious fine tuning (at least let us set how we want it to work). There are plenty of auto shooters and twinstick shooters where the devs can draw inspiration from.
I am constantly unable to lock on to Cerberus so its not so hot this time around. Also the auto aim can be amazing but that doesn't mean we should lose the ability to aim with right stick.
It can never hurt to have more options
I found this thread because I just ran into this issue. I didn't even think to include Cerberus in my search terms but it does seem to consistently fail here.
I'm using the omega attack channeling ability on the torches. Being able to move in a different direction than the one you're aiming (effectively strafing) is pretty important. It cost me the run since a significant amount of my shots weren't connecting.
I guess the size of Cerberus and distance you maintain, or maybe his attack pattern forces the target locking to disable. It would be nice to just cycle targets with shoulder buttons or override with the second analog stick. Other than this issue, playing on a controller feels pretty good.
Was fun while trying to clear 32 heat in a room full of monsters, flames and enemy projectiles.
Btw, there is another remnant of part 1 in terms of aim bugs:
Sometimes she suddenly turns away from enemies towards the outside of the map - happened way more often in part 1 though.
