And why not ? By the way she is not a "Female Zagreus". She has a name and it is : Melinoë.

Wow, real "there is another energy", I guess some greek mythology nerds probably saw this coming, I guess she, Melinoe goddess of ghosts and spirits, might have access to different parts of the underworld than Zag, maybe that's why Mel's the protagonist she can go out into new parts of the underworld cause it looks like the game is set in new locations...and now I need to know when Mel was born, has she been hidden away,sent away while Persephone went to the surface or was she born post reconciliation, is Zag going to be Mel's mentor, do they have a good relationship or is Zag lost in the depths I hope they get along well I want all the dets...give them to me Give them to ZIMMM.
I think that's Hades looking pretty rough at the end of the trailer there but it could a bait and switch and it's actually an aged up Zag since they are fighting against Chronus, would make sense with the protag switch.

Oh and I think this is cool so if peoples have a problem with a cool sequel to a great game with a new kickass female protag you can keep that to yourself until you have some legitimate and meaningful complaints about things that actually mater like quality of gameplay(which won't happen cause it will be great) and how much you need them to implement an easy mode cause you're bad at the game.

The Supergiant website explains that, like Zag, she's an actual character from mythology who has connections to Hades. Come on dude, I know using your brain it painful but it can be helpful.

nobody is talking about her in the first game right? don't think I ever saw a mention, and I think it's kind of weird to bring new character like that.

And no one is talking about ALL other gods either in first game, yet that doesn't mean they don't exist. Melinoe exists in the mythology, so I'm more than glad to be play as her this time.

Two between Hades and Persephone. There's Macaria, but different versions of mythologies say she had a different mother.

SSG tends to alternate protags gender, so I am cool with it. This is the one criticism that I think is meritless, but I am afraid will be used as a cudgel against my actual criticisms.

So are you also upset that Apollo and Hecate are in this game? Since they were also not mentioned in the first game?
It takes place sometime after the events of the first game, is there no possibility in your mind that they could have had another child since Persephone returned to the house of Hades? Stop being mad over nothing, new characters are introduced in games all of the time.
