AMD CPU and graphics card here (latest drivers).
So.. proton seemingly doesn't work flawlessly for everybody, but thank you for your input.
PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11 VKD3D_FEATURE_LEVEL=12_1 SteamDeck=1 %command%
Just accept that Proton is your new god (for linux gamers).
Better performance, better compatibility, easier to diagnose issues with, doesn't keep your system restricted to Steam, doesn't act as an extra layer of DRM, easier modding, easier access to save data, faster booting and load times, less shader compilation, futureproofing for when Proton inevitably becomes depricated, promotes Linux as a standard which is a necessity for the future of PC as a platform, so on and so forth.
Have you tried literally any Linux port made in the last 5 years? After Vulkan released they're all universally better than Proton. Have you only played those terrible "ports" that were actually just Wine bundled with the Windows version? Because I hate to tell you - Proton's just a continuation of those. An improvement sure, but far from what's needed.
Also saying Linux ports get "less support" is hilarious. As if a single developer has ever assisted non-Steam Deck users with Proton lmao
