What is going on with MOD.IO for ready or not

What I mean specifically is I just bought this game today and I of course immediately install mods but when I try to restart the game it says I need to verify files because the game crashes, so I did that and after I boot the game back up after verifying it still crashes.

It wasn't until I booted it up via safe mode what actually let me go to the main menu I've played a bunch of games using mod.Io I've never had this happen so am I doing something wrong or is it just out of my control.

I also tried to install that manually and it still brings me that message so what is going on because I'm going to be real the mods I'm trying to install are the ones I want to use and the game keeps crashing

I see so basically I'm going to have to do with message the creators and wait for them to update it and then finally play the game that's just the way I want to do it but basically that's what I got to do right cuz I want to use those specific mods if that's 100% what that is

Most of the mods on mods.io are outdatted sadly. I'd recommend installing mods from nexus instead, they're more up to date

I'm going to be real with you I tried that and it still crashed it and I use the same mods that I tried to get from mod.io it's not the fact that they're outdated on mod.io their outdated as a whole and apparently the creators don't give a crap.

I mean it seems like I won't be able to use them as I want to use because of that and I seem to only have a choice for you that I can use because they're updated for the current version because like the other person said I can only install mods from December of 2024 which is very few.


So ready or not modding is practically dead and nonexistent outside of a few mods that still work

And lemme tell you friend, most mods ARE NOT UP TO DATE AND MOSTLY ABANDONED BY THEIR DEVS. It sucks...

Well what I don't understand is why Butler make mods if you're just going to abandon it after making it basically a day off you know what I'm saying.

And if I'm going to be honest it really pisses me off, because I personally like to use mods for games that have it.

Also not even the fact that they abandoned the mods even on the Nexus no one's really making mods to replace the ones abandoned or just mods in general and I don't understand why.

Like is it because the game doesn't have that much content to warrant at least according to the people who want to make mods or whatever.

Been on the other hand there are some updated mods that require dependencies and sometimes those dependencies are out of date so there's that too so you basically cannot have any mods without having some sort of trouble along the way and it actually makes me really angry.

I have the same issue, how do you uninstall mods? im not really a computer person so idk how to look for and identify files.

For mod.io and it's crashing the game put the game into safe mode no mods and then go to the mod section in game and then just unsubscribe from it and if it's from Nexus just delete the pak file and then you're good if it replaces something then I think you're going to have to reinstall the whole game.

Like to give you an example I have a mod that replaces all the voice lines and if it breaks I'm going to probably have to reinstall the game.
