Option to disable mods.
Right now we can download mods in game with mod.io, but if we play with friends who do not use mods then we have to unsubscribe from our mods, and then re download them later. I believe it would be far better to have the ability to disable mods while in-game. As of right now it is not intuitive enough for people to make proper use of; with some people having a variety of different friend groups.

Furthermore I also believe having a test branch would be extremely beneficial for mod makers to adapt their mods to the changes that are being made in the updates before the updates are released on the main branch. This could help the game keep it's active player count up due to people refraining from playing the game until the mods they enjoy are updated weeks after the update is released to the main branch.

When launching the game, you should be able to pick between DX11 and DX12. There's a 3rd option and it's to play in safe mode without mods. Just pick that one.
Alternatively, as host, you can go into Options > disable Server Checksum. It'll allow you to keep your mods while playing with your friends who join your game. If you want to play with mods with your friends, whoever hosts will need to turn off server checksum.

I agree, this is sorely needed, especially because some mods have compatibility issues.

Does Safe Mode do anything but disable mods? I'll definitely be in Dx12, right?

Well the alternate scenario is having different groups of friends that run different mods. A disable feature per mod basis would be extremely helpful.
