I think M45A1 is still the best pistol, most accurate for shieldbearers. The Five Seven is the best but not when you hipfire. I also really enjoy .357 magnum with shield and p90.
90% of time time I just use mp5a2 with silencer on all the operators for old school tacticool larp lol.

They nerfed the 300 blackout ammo in terms of damage, hit reaction and penetration (it is what it comparatively should've been from the start now) and although the weapons that uses them are good, I preffer f90. f90 offers good fire rate, stable recoil, cqb sized build, and efficient use of 5.56 muzzle velocity due to bulpup design (still don't know what muzzle velocity does in the game but I know it is something positive)

AK or SA58 all the way, one tap most of the time, great way to delta force your way through an encounter without blowing throw tonnes of mags. I do like the new .300 blackout rifle though, but the AK and SA58 have always been by go to rifles in this game.

I do like the MP5 10mm, that can be a headshot beast with it's non-existent recoil, so that is a close third.

I love the M45 for its look and the .45, but the recoil and low mag capacity is just insane. So I sometimes pack it, on maps where I know I won't use a pistol too much. I'm actually surprised you find it better for shield users. For shields I either got Magnum for that 1 hit, or a glock for the very low recoil and round capacity.
If I know I'm going to use that sidearm alot... USP or FiveSeven, depending on suspect level.

As for primary, I really love the .300 blackout weapons, especially the LVAR if I need to go silenced. ARN 180 is cool as my "all around" rifle. I haven't given the 5.56 too much love, for some reason they seem to be very low hitting compared to the 300?

I don't use too many SMG. UMP45 is very cool and hard hitting on low armor, so I like that.
Raider has an amazing look but I hate that it's such underperforming... 9mm, low capacity, no auto-... I'd be amazing as a secondary, but ain't no way I'm packing it primary except for RP reasons.

And for 7.62, I absolutely love the new G3. But I try not to kill as much as possible so I rarely take those.

If for looks/sounds only?
Shotguns, all of them but the Supernova is amazing.
Pistols beretta 92FS, I'm fond of that gun.
Rifle, LVAR, M14 and all the belgian weapons (SCARs, P90 and 57)

Just like in real life, I use the SR-16, MP5 and the 1911. It's enough.
