How does the beanbag shotgun’s ammo work?

How in the armory can I equip 6 beanbags but in game I can shoot like 20 (number exaggerated I ain’t counting) like does one beanbag round loaded = 3 shots or something?

I guess that if the shotgun can carry 6 shells (i don't remember the exact number) then each equipment slot that goes to shotgun ammo is actually 6 shells, so 3 in equipment equals 18 shells you can shoot. Same goes for regular shotguns and their ammo, be it buckshot or slug.

I mean I could equip more shells but I have like 4 on cs gas which doesn’t leave much space considering many other non lethals.

But regardless what I’m getting at is one shell/beanbag loaded in armory = double/triple the shots in game. What a system.
