That said, the early Mod 0 rifles had their rear iron sights made by taking the detachable M4A1 carry handle, cutting off the handle portion leaving just the rear sight assembly. But not all of them got the cut down treatment. So there were and probably still are Mod 0s with the full detachable carry handles. These older MK 18 rifles continue to see service with a few law enforcement agencies.
All a long winded way of saying although I don't personally care for the carry handle, I do think it should return as an optional attachment. It's not inauthentic to include it and there is clearly a lot of demand for it.
yeah aware its an mk18,((m4 is nicer to say))
but i really like 80s, 90s, and early 2000s era stuff and the carry handle is a big part of that.
no ar-15 is really complete without one ((unless its an hk416))
