Is FSR working for you?
I have a 7900 XT and play at 1440p and if I set FSR to quality, the fps stay the same and the picture is looking horrid, like 720p without anti aliasing horrible.

Does FSR work better for any of you guys?

It works good for me on a 6950XT.

I can play the game with or without upscale, don't even need it at epic settings 1440p.

For example with 1440p native epic I can get 130ish and if I put just FSR2 to quality mode I gain 60FPS depending on the scene that is just an example though.

What is your settings set at, resolution and rest of your system? What CPU do you have?

The game looks pretty good imo with FSR2 at quality, no need to go below that with even a 7800xt or 6800 for that matter.

Here is a video I did 3 weeks ago, but its comparing 1440p epic with fsr2 quality vs the FSR3 Frame gen mod.

On the left is without the mod.

I don't even get close to your native numbers, or the numbers from your video, crazy high.

Most of the time I get 60-80 fps max at best, often even lower on certain maps, especcially with head cams on, with most settings at medium (only AA and textures on epic).

I only have a Ryzen 5 5500 and 32gb ddr4 ram, but I'm just about to upgrade to a 7800x3D and ddr5.

Still though, somethings not right with my performance in RON, most other games hit 144fps easily at max settings in 1440p, even with my installed budget ecu.

But it's not even about the fps, it's strange that the image quality sucks so hard with FSR on, but only in RON. RE4R and Dead Space look gorgeous for example, I'm just talking about the direct comparisons I can make with other games.

I'd really recommend using DX12 not dx11 if you are. Try dx12 if you aren't.

Disable the Replays from saving to your Ron folder.

Some other things you can do.

Are you using the Optiwand often?

This can cause issues for some people as well.

Put the optiwand resolution scale all the way down to 25%
you can also go into the optiwand fps limit and lower it all the way down to 10.
Bounce light can cause issues for some people too, make sure its disabled.

try lowering the decal fade distance all the way down.

try to cap your FPS in gpu control panel or RTSS for this game.

Game should be on a SSD or NVME

Just try to optimize the best you can with the info above.

If it won't get any better then you will need to possibly wait for a patch.

I copied that from another person I helped.

Disabling the ron replays will probably fix your issue but also do the Optiwand lower settings and turn off bounce light.

I'm using DX12, no real difference between 11 or 12 in my case.

Just disabled replays, fps boost is minimal. At the police station, I get between 60 and 110fps, depending on the area.
On maps like cherryessa farm, it's at 60-70 with dips into the 40s.

The main problem is, that I don't understand how my performance can be so crap, when others with weaker hardware have better performance than me. Guys with the same gpu as me make triple my numbers natively.

I have to fiddle with the settings right now to make it run smooth, but it's not my idea of a gpu upgrade to have to lower ♥♥♥♥ when running a damn 7900 xt :D
Maybe things will finally max out as they should once the cpu is upgraded, not much more I can do now I'm afraid.

But to get back to the original question I asked. FSR sucks right now in RON while it works brilliantly in other games and I have no idea why.

Small update, the 5500 cpu was an incredible bottleneck, upgraded to a 5800x3d and the whole thing came alive, frames on max settings tripled, even on my 3060.
And FSR sucked because I had all settings turned down, when all settings are maxed out, the fsr quality was way better.
There are still annoying frame dips in some situations, but it's nevertheless a night and day difference.

On GTX1070 FSR even if set to quality it's only causing resollution drop for me. Of course there are more FPS but resollution looks like crap. So in other words I could get the same effect by simply lowering resollution to 720p. Looks like FSR is not doing its magic at all.
