RON is a tactical shooter with players who have no tactics
The devs nerfed the game for casuals last year. After lamenting how easy the vanilla game became, i finally added the Here I Come AI and set it to normal difficulty. As soon as i hosted multiplayer, my suspicions were correct.

The wannabe John Wicks have zero tactics and get ricked within minutes (quit right after). They complain about getting killed because their brainless rush and gun approach didn’t work. RON is a tactical shooter with brain dead players.

It’s because of these casuals that the game was nerfed and ruined. I’ve been at it for weeks and almost all play sessions end with casuals dying from rushing.

We really need a "hardcore" mode added so that real players can have proper game sessions online.

EDIT: People saying to just find better teammates are confused. Tactics do not require teamwork. One can be solo and still pie corners, stay close to cover, approach silently, etc.. My point is that these zero skills players are the same ones that ruined the game by whining to the devs that the game was too hard.

The issue is that the devs basically have to choose between AI that unrealistically tracks you and will one shot you the minute you're at all exposed, or AI that can be easily outsmarted by unrealistically aggressive tactics. This isn't the only game that has this problem to solve, Insurgency Sandstorm co-op modes have the same problem and those devs settled into a more casual style and I love that game. IDK why every game with significant amounts of NPCs has an almost bipolar choice to make, but it's a really common problem.

This isn't the only game that has this problem to solve, Insurgency Sandstorm co-op modes have the same problem and those devs settled into a more casual style and I love that game. IDK why every game with significant amounts of NPCs has an almost bipolar choice to make, but it's a really common problem.
hard to make AI actually smart, so the only working thing to make them harder is to raise the numbers, whats not hard is to add difficulty options or sliders like in doom dark ages, those who want challenge will have better options to find it, those who dont - can enjoy the game on easy difficulty

I will agree the AI are pretty stupid but i also find it more enjoyable now after the nerf because before it was ridiculous how quickly they would 1 tap you once your exposed plus the wall tracking so no matter how well my group played the only way to actually push was to just spam flashbangs constantly
And even in singleplayer the best tactic was to stay behind and tell the AI to push for you because they would just aimbot eachother and 99% of the time the SWAT AI would win

I think for now the easiest solution is a choice between easy/hard difficulty until the devs can figure out how to make the AI much smarter and dynamic ect

"hard to make AI actually smart" Wrong, today the devs could do it with that new AI Technics. AI can learn but the devs of this game are to leasy. Its my opinion.
