Magazine check/dump mag
Okay. So when you check how much ammo is left in your magazine, let's say there are 2 rounds left. Why wait for the operator to insert the mag back into the rifle instead of an option of just dumping the mag and reloading to save time? You can spam the reload button like quick reload but it still waits for reinsert? I know, Im sorry for sounding picky, but it just doesn't make sense to me lol

Please let me know that I'm a moron if there is already an option. Ty
This has been suggested numerous times and is unlikely to happen as VOID would have to create 'staged animations (AKA animations that can be interrupted)' for this to work.
Six Days does this quite well, if you press reload in the middle of checking a mag he fluidly reloads instead of reinserting the mag, looks very clean. The devs should definitely add this, I'm pretty sure doing something like Six Days wouldn't be nearly as difficult as say Insurgency Sandstorms system where you can completely stop the animation/ action mid reload and run around with no magazine

Yeah this needs to be a thing: check mag, see mag is <25% and just drop it and reload fresh.

So? Let them create a staged animation.

I would love them to, but VOID's has shown no interest in doing so. Granted, VOID's communication has never been great so this is another one of the hundred things I'm hoping to be wrong about when it comes to RoN.

Even reloading the shotguns becomes frustrating. I dont know if there's a button for it. But I can't just load one or two, stop, then continue to fire. Always makes me add the max amount of shells.

you can spam your reload button to interrupt the reload process, or spam your shooting button (left-click) to interrupt it. if you want to manually insert every shell yourself without interrupting the auto-reload process, then you need to go into your game settings and in there you can change shotgun reload all pellets to single reload. This will change your shotgun reload so that you have to reload every pellet in manually.

insurgency has a good system where you double tap reload to drop the current mag and add a fresh one for a faster overal reload. Makes sense because the character doesnt have to put the almost empy mag back in the pouch.

That is also a thing in this game. The OP's problem is that the mag check animation has to fully play through before you can do anything with the magazine. You can't just drop the mag you are in the middle of checking, because the rest of the mag check animation, where the operator puts the magazine back in, has to play through before you can actually reload the magazine you just got done putting in.
I suppose the most accurate response, and yeah I shoot guns (none of you do). Would be to have a long tap of R initiate a "what to do" type response. The magazine is pulled from the gun and some kind of indication of the capacity is provided. The player can choose to tap R again to reinsert the magazine or click the mouse to drop the magazine and reload from a fresh mag.

Seems like a reasonable compromise especially if the animations are logically expedient.

*edit*
One day the game should discuss dump pouch SOPs.

Definitley reasonable. They dont even need to add a dump pouch on battle belt, the quick reload animation already throws the mag on the ground. Devs could just save time reusing that animation. I like the idea you suggested of either R to reinsert or Right or left click to dump.
Edit: maybe just right click to dump. Because if there are still rounds in the mag left click could discharge the round already in the chamber.

That's a great bit of realism to include.
