Some observations in relation to lobby player numbers
Yesterday when I hosted a lobby, the player cap was increased from 5 to what appears to have been 10 or 11. Given that this has happened before, I assume that this has been reported to the developer.

However, here are some observations I made:

1. The levels take about half as long to play through.
2. Non-lethal equipment was extremely effective considering that the previous limitations on how much equipment the player can bring with them no longer became an obstacle.
3. The game became very laggy on my end, however for the players who joined the game flowed well.
4. Communication was difficult.

Conclusions:
I have noted that there has previously been discussion here on the forum about increasing the player cap. In my opinion, it would be a mistake at the current time in light of my findings. However, I would suggest that if the player cap is increased, the game creator has the option to create two elements consisting of 5 players each, where the squad leaders have the option to communicate with each other through, for example, the "X" button. Two elements could also mean that these spawn at two different entrances on maps that allow it.

Kind regards
B

Update

Same thing happend today, now with 6 players and it was very enjoyable.
There is no bug to increase player cap, if you are running mods, you are likely using the in-game menu mod which can increase player cap. I don't see RoN going past 5 players, it is a standard gameplay decision (think of all the other games that do the same, or are in the 4-6 player range COOP), maps aren't built for more than 5 typically, and as you mentioned the game starts to break the more players there are.

I'm not running any mods, it seems to be releated to several players joining the lobby at the same time, both randoms and steamfriends resulting in the size of the lobby increasing!
A surprise to be sure but a welcome one!

Thanks
