Host your own lobby and set your own rules. If people don't follow your rules, kick them. Problem solved.
Alternatively, post here on Steam LFG and link up with like-minded folks. Go to the official discord or... Steam groups or whatnot.
Or, turn this post into a friend hunt. You just have to put a slight amount of effort into it. Plenty of tacticool cats around here.
if you go far back to one of my posts in early access, I even said that if the devs nerf the Ai, then this game will just be like any other generic FPS shooter out there where it will be easy to run and gun and not need to play tactically. Now that is exactly what it's become.
if you want to roleplay as a real SWAT officer using CQB, then it's best to find a team on discord that wants to play like that.
But also there is an influx of new players which is understandable.
What I hate the most is that these players open the doors wide open or kick doors without clearing the current one leading to confusion, friendly crossfire or exposing vulnerable teammates to suspects.

PS: of course, kill civs, friendly fire, excessive force are just wrong. Especially when you almost complete a level perfectly.
But they quit pretty early because they would die or trip traps.
After a few games in a lobby, they weeded out and the lobby would be full of players working as a team.
The AI is so dumb now, their accuracy so bad, the player can take so many hits, it does not make sense to play tactical anymore.
There is 0 need. Just run thru the level, you really can not die, unless you try.
Went from a great game, to Void listening to the wrong crowd, now just another game on the back shelf.
i'm playing singleplayer since multiplayer is waste of time
100% correct
RON stopped being a 'tactical' shooter on Feb 2024. That month's patch nerfed AI and gave the players a ridiculous amount of health stats. Players can now tank over a dozen shots before dying, which completely ruined online play. Before 2024, online players would die immediately if they rushed in (1-4 hits max).
Until the devs reduce the time to kill for players (which they won't), the game is no longer a challenge. And COD style online games are what will dominate the online mode. Only hope is that maybe the devs come out with a 'hardcore' mode or something that reduces nerfs player health.
The words of a true og from the earlier EA days. You're absolutely right man.
The game was punishing before, it ain't now. RON was a 'hardcore' level game, but by popular demand it was moved to easy/normal mode. Which unfortunately for us, really changes the soul of a game in my view.
