Linux Gamers And Anti-Cheat
This game is going to add PVP, it's going to probably add anticheat then and I completely understand why. Please, devs, do not implement anti-cheat in a way that kicks linux users like so many other games. The game currently runs perfectly fine on Linux, please do not ruin it. There are easy enough options nowadays to have anticheat accept Linux users playing through Proton compatibility.

Though I'd prefer no intrusive anti-cheat, using it with Linux support enabled within EAC or BattlEye would be fantastic.

an official confirmation would be awesome!

An official confirmation of support for Proton will result in me immediately forking out the money for this.

Been loving the game so far as someone else who runs primary linux. No artifacts, smooth buttery 120+ FPS. I don't intend to play any PVP modes as long as I can still run singleplayer without any pointless anti cheat kicking in that would be awesome.

On the flipside, due to the Steam Deck, Valve is working with anti-cheat providers to ensure they will function properly on SteamOS, which is basically linux + proton. If that pans out we'll all reap the benefits.

Brother, just keep a modest size drive, like 500gb or something, with a win10 install, turn off all privacy violating ♥♥♥♥ you can, use Win10debloater and strip it down, and keep that only for games Linux can't play well.

That's what I do, it's way less painful a life for a gamer. https://newfastuff.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/qayN1b9.png

Oh that's what I do right now, but I would rather stay in my OS of choice where possible - especially seeing how Proton is doing an amazing job lately.

Need to let the devs know there's a contingent of us out here who want to don't want choice of OS to stand in the way of enjoying great games!

Hey I need some feedbacks on that. Game runs fine indeed with proton... but which proton you guys using?

I have low perf with a few games, including RoN and I can't figure it out.
It's like, the game runs at 30FPS then I go to the graphics settings, put everything in "low", play a bit, then put everything back in "epic" and it's fine, 60FPS... until the next map.

Have this issue with multiple games... not sure what gives.
Nvidia GTX1060, proprietary drivers. Proton 6.21 GE and Proton 7RC2.
All the same. Lutris as well.

Of course on Win10 runs flawlessly, all maxed out, no problem.

i used the standard proton version from valve.
if you have nvidia just like me, i use this "gamemoderun %command%" as launch option for games to run smooth.

Yeah my question 2. Are the dev's gonna ... keep or block linux users? I hope the keepping part.

Just give me the option to not run with Anti cheat, I am fine.
Kick me off anti cheat enabled servers that is fine too, but let me deny your software...
Well I would experience the same crap on Windows anyway, as I actively sabotage anti cheat on Windows already and their sneaky installs.
Johnny 5 Aces Apr 15, 2022 @ 11:59am
I don't actually own a copy of Windows anymore, so I'd like the option to play in coop without anti-cheat preserved. If it's possible to implement anti-cheat that works on Linux, that'd be nice, but I don't have enough friends interested in this game to be able to do a PvE match.
