Incapacitate suspects with lethal weapons (not deadly)
It would be very desirable if the suspects could be incapacitated with targeted shots, for example in the leg or in the hand, without them dying.

While you might see this in the movies its not something LA S.W.A.T. is trained to do or would do. I ran this by my LA S.W.A.T. connections just now and here is his quoted response.. "Absolutely not, that ♥♥♥♥ only happens on TV or video games it sounds like.
Shooting someone with a gun is deadly force regardless of where you shoot them." they added "And wouldn't hold up in court. The officer would get crucified" To be honest, in these times, it is extremely possible the officer and dept could get sued for crippling the poor crack head.

Not saying that it wouldn't be cool to actually hit a limb and have the AI respond accordingly, for example limp or drop a firearm, because it would be. Its not something done intentionally but it can still happen. It would be great to have this feature but there needs to be a penalty.

I have done this many times (shoot a suspect in the arm/leg/hands) and it would be nice if they dropped the gun, at least. Swat 4 had this and Im sure given time this one too.

Any shot with a leathal weapon is a lethal shot, there is no other way around it

Yeah.. I know there's a lot of memes and people genuinely saying "Why don't police aim for the legs". Anatomy doesn't like that, your legs have some pretty important arteries. You may incapacitate them temporarily, but they're going to bleed out depending on where you hit. For hands though, I'd be fine seeing the option to shoot the gun out of their hands, just keep in mind missing and hitting them will likely kill them

Not the case in game right now, the difference is that irl the guy drops the gun, here it is glued. Still, not fun or realistic.

this would add more depth to the game so why not

shoot an armed suspect who is threatening you in his leg instead of his chest

surely its better to have an arrested suspect than a dead suspect

As someone in law enforcement I can tell you if a lethal force situation arises we train to shoot center mass. The reason we train this way is because lethal force is the last option we use. Training to target limbs sounds like it would be reasonable, but it isn’t. You’re talking about targeting small areas in high stress situations. If possible we will try to use options such as less lethal shotguns and so on. To the other point being hit doesn’t ensure that a suspect will drop a weapon. Depending on frame of mind, drugs onboard, pain tolerance, etc. They may continue fighting.

Yet, there are hundreds of videos of real suspects dropping knives/guns after they are hit in the arm/hands, intentionally or not. It should be in game, as it was in Swat 4 and no one ever complained that it was unrealistic.

I have seen police shootout both SWAT and police pursing a guy with AR til his stop by both SWAT and cop cars. His got out with gun so everyone keep shooting at him til his go down. They all still keep firing to Incapacitate suspect because they try to reach for the gun even getting shot at both hand and legs. At the end the suspect was not dead but full of hole to both leg and arm.

Now, I wish ready or not could do this too.
I cap suspect that give up after I shot them rarely and still get normal score like go with non leathal so this is possible

Pretty sure when you are missing a knee you won't be walking towards a cop anymore...crawling maybe if you are the Terminator.
A better reaction of AI where they were hit would be nice though.

At least the bean bag's danger to being lethal due to the operator's recklessness is on display in-game.

I was surprised they actually thought about that.

They are called less lethal, not non lethal, if they were non lethal they would be firing tranqs.
But it does show that the "Realism first" marketing on the store page is being followed through by the developers to include details like that.

Let's hope they also nerf the speedhacking AI.
